89.7 NPR News Reporter Contributes to National Stories Ohio once again is playing a key role in the selection of our next president. When NPR’s Morning Edition came to Ohio to hear from voters before and after the second presidential debate, it called on 89.7’s Esther Honig to help.

As part of its Divided States project, NPR tasked Esther with finding a voter with a unique story in this unique campaign. She found Katie Rooney, a lifelong Republican who has decided to vote for Hillary Clinton. Esther visited Rooney at her New Albany home and participated in an interview with Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep. The mother of three said Clinton and not Donald Trump is suited for office.

“I support having a woman in the White House, what that means for me, what that means for my daughters,” Rooney told Inskeep and Honig.
