Appendix 1 Summary reports for operating mines in Queensland The following section presents detailed information for each of Queensland’s significant operating mines. Mineral deposits are presented in alphabetic order. Each mineral deposit report contains information about the location, commodities, size classification, production, resources/reserves, mining styles, tenures, host rocks, mineral deposit models, mineralisation ages and other comments. The resource information recorded does not duplicate resources documented as reserves or under any other resource classification. For example, if a published ‘measured, indicated and inferred resource’ includes the ‘proved and probable ore reserves’, these reserves are not recorded. However, if published reserves are in addition to the published resources they are recorded separately. Open file information sources such as company annual reports, quarterly reports and stock exchange announcements have been used, where available, to ensure current information is captured. Most resource and reserve figures are in accordance with the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (JORC code), which is included as Appendix 9. Some older resource figures are not in accordance with the JORC code. Individual summary reports indicate whether or not the resource and reserve figures are JORC compliant. All sources used are referenced wherever possible. Construction was completed by the end of 2004 and the plant was commissioned. Andoom ore is now mined and treated separately, increasing Comalco's capacity to meet customer requirements. Note that Andoom production and resources are reported in the figures for the Weipa Bauxite Mine. Prior to 2004, bauxite ore from Andoom was blended with ore from the Weipa mine to produce the final bauxitic product. A JORC compliant resource estimate was calculated and baseline environmental studies and preliminary evaluation work have commenced. In July 2007, North Queensland Metals announced a probable ore reserve for the deposit. In May 2008, the company announced that the project will proceed to development. Drilling results announced in April 2007 included 4.05m at 8.5% Cu, 1.18% Sn, 224g/t Ag and 642g/t In from 36.85m, 7.4m at 3.36% Cu, 1,24% Sn, 97g/t Ag and 264g/t In from 39m, and 5m at 5.16% Cu, 0.21% Sn, 128g/t Ag and 337g/t In from 33m. The mine is expected to process 500 000t over a seven year mine life to produce ~20 000t of Cu-Sn-Ag-In concentrate per year. A review of the mine design in the June 2009 quarter indicated that a smaller higher grade pit is feasible. February 2011: Monto Minerals purchased the Baal Gammon deposit as part of a larger suite of tin prospective ground in North Queensland. In 2012 Monto Mins reported a larger than anticipated high grade zone identified within the Baal Gammon resource - 829kT @ 2.5% Cu, 96g/t Ag, 0.4% Sn & 96g/t In (BR9802). These results are based on Kagara 28 hole drilling programme concluded 30 Oct 2011. In September 2011 Kagara commenced open pit mining and are processing Baal Gammon ore at their nearby 500,000tpa Mt Garnet copper processing facility.

Support the concept of Council ownership of Macrossan Street - Port Douglas, between Wharf and Davidson Streets; 2. Delegates authority under section 257 of the Local Government Act 2009 to the Chief Executive Officer to negotiate and finalise the transfer of ownership of Macrossan Street with the Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Macrossan Street, Port Douglas is a State Controlled Road and whenever Council plans improvements along the street it must seek approval from the Department of Transport and Main Roads approval (DTMR). At the Council Workshop held Tuesday 3 December 2019, Councillors discussed the idea of negotiating ownership of Macrossan Street with the Department of Transport & Main Roads. At this workshop, Councillors agreed that the Executive Manager Infrastructure was to discuss the idea with the DTMR corridor manager to gauge their appetite for relinquishing State Control of Macrossan Street. Some of the advantages to Council controlling Macrossan Street include: Council has final say on improvements; Council can close the road for events without seeking DTMR approval; The community see it as a Council road so this would enshrine this belief; Council can implement streetscape improvements such as ‘shared zones’, coloured pavements and textures,

Lloyd, Extension Officer, Brisbane Published by: Queensland Department of Primary Industries September 1978 FOREWORD The Shire Handbook was conceived in the mid-1960s. A limited number of a series was printed for use by officers of the Department of Primary Industries to assist them in their planning of research and extension programmes. The Handbooks created wide interest and, in response to public demand, it was decided to publish progressively a new updated series. This volume is one of the new series. Shire Handbooks review, in some detail, the environmental and natural resources which affect farm production and people in the particular Shire. Climate, geology, topography, water resources, soils and vegetation are' described. Farming systems are discussed, animal and crop production reviewed and yields and turnoff quantified. The economics of component industries are studied. The text is supported liberally by maps and statistical tables. Shire Handbooks provide important reference material for all concerned with rural industries and rural Queensland. * They serve as a guide to farmers and graziers, bankers, stock and station agents and those in agricultural business. * Provide essential information for regional planners, developers and environmental impact students. * Are a very useful reference for teachers at all levels of education and deserve a place in most libraries. I commend this series to students of agriculture and all whose business is associated with the land and rural people.

    Purchase of Hurricane Gold Project, Queensland and Status of ASX Re- Compliance 24 May 2021 HIGHLIGHTS • Subject to shareholder approval, New Energy Minerals Ltd (‘’NXE” or “the Company”) has conditionally agreed to acquire 100% of Placer Gold Pty Ltd, the holder of three granted gold-antimony Exploration Permits in Northern Queensland known as the Hurricane Project. • Consideration of 2.6 million NXE fully paid ordinary shares (post- proposed share consolidation) likely to be escrowed up to 24 months (subject to shareholder approval) plus $255,000 ($50,000 already paid with the balance payable on re-listing) in cash as re-imbursement for prior expenditure on the Hurricane Project (subject to ASX approval). • The Hurricane Project consists of three mineralised vein systems. The Project does not have a JORC-compliant resource. However, the physical extent of the identified mineralisation, coupled with rock chip sampling results supports NXE’s intention of additional exploration and study work focussed on mine development. • Rock chip samples from surface-oxidised quartz breccia veins contain significant gold grades. Excluding samples collected from the wall rock, the average gold-in-rock chip values include: o 18.92 g/t Au from seven samples collected along the Typhoon Vein that is +500m long and +0.5m wide (with minimum/maximum grades of 0.08 and 163 g/t Au respectively) o 2.64 g/t Au from twenty four samples collected along the lenticular Holmes Vein that is +100m long and +60m wide (with minimum/maximum grades of 0.03 and 21.7 g/t Au respectively) o 1.33 g/t Au from fifty four samples collected along the Tornado Vein that is +700m long and +3.5m wide (with minimum/maximum grades of 0.01 and 17.6 g/t Au respectively) o 0.79 g/t Au from twenty four samples collected along the Monsoon Vein that is +600m long and +8m wide (with minimum/maximum grades of 0.01 and 3.96 g/t Au respectively) o 1.57 g/t Au from the seventy samples collected along the Bouncer/Pederson Vein Systems (with minimum/maximum grades of 0.01 and 9.7 g/t Au respectively).

    293 PARTD DISCUSSION 294 295 Chapter 20: MODELLING CHANGE IN NORTH QUEENSLAND PREHISTORY Throughout this thesis, emphasis has been given to data that are relevent to an investigation of change and stability in north Queensland prehistory. In some classes of information, such as deposition rates of cultural materials, the temporal trends obtained are relatively secure, in that for most sites, sub-regions and regions, systematic increases can be shown to have taken place during the mid to late Holocene. For other evidence, the temporal trends observed relied principally on circumstantial evidence, as was the case for the dating of north Queensland's rock art. Nevertheless, a consistent pattem has emerged, despite differences in the reliability of the chronological frameworks constmcted for the separate sets of data (e.g. artefact deposition rates, beginnings of new site types, antiquity of cave paintings and so forth). The pattem indicates that significant changes in socio-cultural practices have taken place during the mid to late Holocene. It is now time to draw together these findings in order to investigate the dynamics of socio- cultural practices in north Queensland prehistory. SOUTHEAST CAPE YORK PENINSULA: THE TRENDS In Part B of this thesis, considerable detail was presented to investigate whether or not temporal pattems could be identified at sites excavated in southeast Cape York Peninsula. The observed trends were rather coarse-grained, in that the exact chronological relationship of the various changes noted within and between sites suffered from poor temporal resolution. Nevertheless, significant increases in rates of site establishment and deposition, as well as the first appearance of 'burren adzes', were evident during the mid to late Holocene in all areas studied.

    DELIVERING SAFER STREETS FOR CAIRNS Report by Director-General, Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the Commissioner for Police on addressing crime trends in Cairns Executive Summary There have been significant concerns about escalating crime in the Cairns community. Our assessment is that these concerns are justified and warrant immediate action. We do not believe that crime in Cairns is out of control. However, the city is experiencing a number of disturbing trends that should be met with a swift and dedicated response tailored to the specific problems that the Cairns community faces. These include: • elevated levels of property offences and offences against the person • increases in juvenile offending, and, in particular, Indigenous juvenile offending • long-standing issues with homelessness. We are concerned for the safety of the Cairns community. We are concerned for the children of Cairns who are growing up in a community where juvenile crime is increasing. We are concerned for the continuing vulnerability of homeless people in Cairns. Crime and the causes of crime in Cairns are complex and multi-faceted. Tackling these issues requires not only immediate action, but also dedication, innovation and co-operation. Dedication, because while there are some things that can be done immediately, we know that in many cases, there is no easy fix. We must be willing to stay the course as we work to combat crime, to meet problems where they emerge and to redouble our efforts in the face of setbacks. Innovation, because we cannot afford to repeat strategies which are failing or which are less effective than they need to be.
