Excellent when served with dishes of character, such as grilled or roasted meats, game or cheese £4.5 // £6.3 // £8.8 // £26 VERDEJO // Arriezu Vineyards, 2018, Rueda, Spain. 13.5% (Organic) Not dissimilar to a rich Sauvignon Blanc. (Natural) Crisp and refreshing, balanced with just a touch of oak gives way to an impressive long finish. Perfect for cured and roasted meats or grilled seafood. £40 ROSÉ LA MAROUETTE // Grenache, France, Cape Coral, Mourvèdre Rose. 13% (Organic) A light, aromatic rosé wine with plenty of substance. Initially sweet with a dryer finish. Great with fish and vegetables, but quaffable on its own too. £4.5 // £6.3 // £8.8 // £26 CAPE CORAL // Mourvèdre Rose. 13% Pale in colour with a subtle fragrance. A Fresh wine with long, savoury notes. Pairs well with seafood and spice. £36 DESSERT CHATEAU DUDON // Sauternes, 2015, France. 14% (Organic) The awards for this mind blowing Sauternes just keep coming. Deeply honeyed with lemon and pineapple, which deliver the perfect push back to the wines natural sweetness. Cellared this can easily keep for tens years. Very Special. 120ml glass £16 HEAVEN ON EARTH // Dessert Muscat, 2017, South Africa.(Organic) Gloriously Sweet, classic Muscat. The grapes are dried on straw and Rooibos Tea which adds a sweet earthiness to the flavour profile. The acidity is perfectly balanced. Great as an aperitif or pairs well with cheese. 120ml glass £11 The Bull Inn, Totnes RED RURAL PAR NATURE MERLOT // Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, 2019, France. 2019, 13.5% (Organic) A solid blended vine with plenty of fruit, think cherries blackcurrant and raspberry. Smooth and medium bodied with a woody herby tone in there. £4.5 // £6.3 // £8.8 // £26 LA MAROUTETTE MERLOT // Jacques Frelin IGP, Pays d’Oc 2019, France. 13% (Organic) A wonderfully soft, classic merlot. Plummy, floral, and a little bit spicy. So many things go perfectly with this well-balanced red: think mushrooms, tomatoes, blue cheese, garlic and braised meats. £4.5 // £6.3 // £8.8 // £26 TAQUIES // Malbec-Cabernet Sauvignon, 2017, Mendoza, Argentina. 14% (Organic) A gutsy Malbec, rich and fruity, with gentle tannins and a sweetness on the finish. You might find sage, rosemary and mint also balance well with this wine, especially when combined with earthy meat cuts and root vegetables. £5.20 // £7.30 // £10.40 // £29.00 MAISON PLANTEVIN // Côtes du Rhône Villages AC 2018, France. 13% (Organic) Fantastic new Rhône find. Grenache and Syrah predominate in this cuvee, with just 10% each of Carignan and Cinsault. All grapes are hand harvested at this family run estate, and fermentation is natural. The result an un-oaked wine is all about pure fruit enjoyment. £4.8 // £6.8 // £9.5 // £28 CORBIÈRES // Domaine de l’Ancien Courrier AC 2018, France. 13% (Organic) Shows parallels to a Cabernet Sauvignon; ripe, rustic and robust. Perfect for rich meats, strong cheeses and roasted vegetables £4.8 // £6.8 // £9.5 // £28 CIU CIU // Bacchus Rosso Piceno 2019, Marche, Italy. 13.5% (Organic) Cherries, raspberries and strawberries are balanced with liquorice. Oaky notes match well with charred meats and fish, paprika and red peppers. £5.1 // £7.4 // £10 // £30 The Bull Inn, Totnes DAFINOS LIATIKO // Douloufakis, 2018, Creete, Greece. 13% (Natural) Savoury and spicy, with good acidity, and outstanding tannins. Reminds us of an excellent Barolo. The fruity and earthy flavours of this wine make it ideal for game, rich fatty meats, olive oil, and buttery vegetable dishes. £32 JUDITH BECK // Ink Zweigelt/St. Laurent 2019, Burgenland, Austria. 12.5% (Biodynamic) Dark and subtlety spicy. Beautifully crafted to support the delicate flavours of fish, shellfish and poultry, this rare and desirable wine breaks the mould of red, to give us something both surprising and exciting. £35 RAISINS GAULOIS // Gamay Lapierre, 2019, France, 12.5% (Organic) 100% Gamay from Beaujolais, earthy, full of fruit but light bodied. This hand harvested beauty is limited in supply, so try it before it goes. Can be lightly chilled and goes well wish fish, salads and spices.
