  • Daimler-Chrysler-Vehicle-Problems
Dodge Chrysler Vehicles - Poor Quality Reliability Safety Defects Page 1 of 17 DAIMLERCHRYSLER DODGE CHRYSLER VEHICLES - IMPORTANT CONSUMER INFORMATION BEFORE YOU BUY Dodge, Chrysler formerly DaimlerChrysler has had a history of excessive vehicle quality issues, safety defects and poor service. This continued despite the 1998 Chrysler merger with Daimler Benz and constant claims by DaimlerChrysler that this was a significant benefit to consumers. If anything, given the dramatic quality decline, it seems Mercedes Benz may have embraced some of the cost cutting quality standards at Chrysler to increase overall profitability. The problems continue despite stylish new vehicles and claims of new stringent quality standards by Chrysler to regain consumer confidence. Chrysler continues to deceive consumers regarding known potentially life threatening vehicle defects such as unsafe Seatbelts and Steering which continue to put consumer lives at risk every day. Chrysler still refuses to recall several common serious safety defects that cannot be absolved through mergers and buyouts. Chrysler continues to reduce its warranty expense through an aggressive refusal to honor many valid warranty claims while blaming the consumer whenever possible, such as defective engines where on schedule oil changes can be proven. Consumers often attribute this to being a dealer problem while failing to recognize that this is because Chrysler pressures dealers to keep warranty costs to a minimum, even for known problems and defects. Chrysler will do everything it can to avoid covering common problems under warranty whenever possible by blaming consumers or claiming issues cannot be duplicated. We believe Chrysler is the most negligent, deceptive, misleading and arrogant automobile manufacturer that does not deserve your business.

  • The Indy Racing League and the Indianapolis 500
The Indy Racing League and the Indianapolis 500: Increasing Competition in Open-Wheeled Automobile Racing in the United States Robert W. White Department of Sociology and Andrew J. Baker Department of Geography School of Liberal Arts IUPUI We thank Terri Talbert-Hatch and Pete Hylton for their comments and support of Motorsports Studies. Please direct correspondence to Robert White ([email protected]), Professor of Sociology and Director of Motorsports Studies, or Andrew Baker ([email protected]), Lecturer, Department of Geography, School of Liberal Arts, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), 425 University Boulevard, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202. 1 The Indy Racing League and the Indianapolis 500: Increasing Competition in Open-Wheeled Automobile Racing in the United States Abstract Over the course of its lengthy history, the popularity of open-wheeled automobile racing in the United States has waxed and waned. This is especially evident in recent years. The 1996 “split” between the Indy Racing League (IRL; later, the IndyCar Series) and Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART; later the Champ Car World Series) severely hurt the sport. Following the split there was a well-documented decline in fan interest from which the sport has not recovered. Less understood, however, is that under the Indy Racing League the Indianapolis 500, the premier event in open-wheeled racing in the United States, became more competitive. Ironically, while fan interest decreased in the Indy Racing League era, the quality of racing increased. The increased competition associated with the Indy Racing League is a historically significant development that bodes well for the future of the sport.

AL SCHMITT Al Schmitt is a renowned recording and mix engineer whose acclaimed music career has spanned more than half a century. During that time Al has been awarded more accolades than any of his contemporaries including holding the record for most Grammy awards for a recording or mix engineer. To date, Al is the recipient of 23 Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Trustees Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. In 2014, Al received the Honorary Doctorate from Berklee School of Music. Al is a New York native, of whom Barbra Streisand states, "as a fellow Brooklyn-ite, we speak the same language." He has worked on more than 150 gold and platinum albums, and was inducted into the TEC Awards Hall of Fame in 1997 to honor his technical and creative excellence in recording and sound. In the early days of his career, working at RCA, Al engineered albums for such legendary artists as Sam Cooke, Rosemary Clooney and Henry Mancini, featuring the Grammy Award winning title, "Moon River", which also won an Academy Award for Best Song, and for "Breakfast at Tiffany's." During this time he also worked on scoring for multiple motion pictures as well. In the mid 60's, while demand for his engineering services grew, Al also aspired to become an independent producer. In addition to recording all the last records of the legendary Sam Cooke, during this same period, Al also worked with Ann Margaret, Bobby Darin and Eddie Fisher. He also worked with newer, up and coming artists of the time including Jefferson Airplane, Jackson Browne and Neil Young.

Contact: Michele Callender Ariel Gavilan Chrysler Heritage (Outside North America) Press kit translations are available in pdf format to the right under "Attached Documents." February 28, 2005, Auburn Hills, Mich. - The year 2004 was a landmark year for the Chrysler brand, with a fantastic display of new vehicles, model improvements and growing quality and technological prowess. In the year that marked the Chrysler brand’s 80th anniversary, the brand introduced seven new or refreshed models to markets outside of North America. Chrysler has repeatedly introduced unconventional vehicles and engineering innovations. Those innovations range from the Chrysler Six, which in 1924 redefined what a passenger car should be, to cab-forward designs and segment- defining MPVs that helped crystallise the brand’s image in the 1990s, to exciting current products like the Chrysler 300C Sedan, Touring and SRT8. The influence of the Chrysler brand’s past upon its future manifests itself in every new Chrysler product. Chrysler Brand Historical Highlights 1924: Walter P. Chrysler introduces the 1924 Chrysler Six — one of the most advanced and exciting cars of its day. The Chrysler Six is a quality light car — power in a small package — something no other brand is offering at the time. The vehicle makes maximum use of a high-speed, high-compression engine with incredible power and small displacement — along with other features such as hydraulic brakes. This becomes the first modern automobile at a very moderate price — a revolutionary concept in its day. 1925-1933: Chrysler broadens the model line to four separate series. Imperial emerges as a top-level luxury/performance car.

SDCDArtsNotes An Educational Study Guide from San Diego Civic Dance / San Diego Park & Recreation School Shows – February 10, 2012 9:30am & 11:30am Casa del Prado Theatre, Balboa Park “It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” Defining Moments --Leonardo da Vinci Welcome! The San Diego Civic Dance Program welcomes you to the school-day performance of Collage 2012: Defining Moments, featuring the acclaimed dancers from the San Diego Civic Dance Company in selected numbers from their currently running theatrical performance. The City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department’s Dance Program has been lauded as the standard for which other city-wide dance programs nationwide measure themselves, and give our nearly 3,000 students the ability to work with excellent teachers in a wide variety of dance disciplines. The dancers that comprise the San Diego Civic Dance Company serve as “Dance Ambassadors” for the City of San Diego throughout the year at events as diverse as The Student Shakespeare Festival (for which they received the prize for outstanding Collage entry), Disneyland Resort and at Balboa Park’s December Nights event, to name but a few. In addition to the talented City Dance Staff, these gifted dancers also are given the opportunity to work with noted choreographers from Broadway, London’s West End, Las Vegas, and Major Motion Pictures throughout the year. Collage 2012: Defining Moments represents the culmination of choreographic efforts begun in the summer of 2011. Andrea Feier, Dance Specialist for the City of San Diego gave the choreographers a simple guideline: pick a moment, a time, or an event that inspired you – and then reflect that moment in choreography.
