The Sir Edmund Hillary PRESIDENT’S REPORT Foundation We began the spring of 2016 at the foundation with a trip and treks to Nepal. The objectives were multipurpose with many different projects going on under the rebuild fund which needed to be visited, as well as to check the existing projects, and also take part in the highly anticipated Celebration for the 50th Founder and Executive Director W. F. (Zeke) O’Connor Anniversary of the Kunde Hospital. (40 of those years under the support of the SEHF.) The 50th Honourary Life Members anniversary celebration reunited people from all over who have been part of the process from Dr. Joan Ford C. R. Sharpe the start and have helped in the transformation over 50 years. It more than proves the hospital P.W .Webster has been a strong and successful initiative. The Zeke O'Connor School is also running extremely Dr. R. Zimmerman well and the students continue to do well within their testing environments. Continued funding Office Manager is key to maintaining the foundation in good running order. We will begin our capital campaign M. Quin and will reach out to the community in the fall for support. KUNDE HOSPITAL RE-BUILD PROGRESS REPORT

Reconstruction of the Main Block of the Kunde Hospital began June 1, 2016, immediately following the 50th Anniversary Celebrations. Progress has been steady and is almost complete. MONTREAL ROVER SCOUTS – YETI PROJECT

Rover Scouts from Montreal fundraised for their trek to Nepal & worked hard on restoring some of the Foundation’s projects damaged by the 2015 Earth Quakes. They planted 4,000 tree seedlings, painted the Thame Clinic and helped setup a computer lab at the Khumjung School. All of their hard work is appreciated by the Foundation and especially by the Sherpas of Solu-Khumbu.
