Our children received their catechesis through the internet, and in spite of everything have done really well. Thank you to Michaela for her fantastic work in very difficult circumstances. We are grateful to the ladies from our Polish community, who decorated the Sanctuary and pews ready for the celebration. Please pray for our children, their catechists and families at this wonderful time. Relaxing Covid Restrictions: From 19th July the Government has removed most of the rules and regulations put in place to control the spread of Coronavirus. The onus is now on individuals/organisations to consider risks and make their own judgements about what measures to take to mitigate them. The Catholic Bishop’s Conference has issued general guidelines to help Parishes. Essentially decisions should be made taking local conditions fully into account. For the time being we intend to retain our current measures and consider any relaxations cautiously. We will continue to require bookings to be made for 10.00am Mass on Sunday. The Padley Martyrs; Nicholas Garlick and Robert Ludlum were catholic priests who were discovered practising their faith at Padley Hall, in north Derbyshire. This was prohibited by law under Queen Elizabeth I in 1588; the year of the Spanish Armada and there were fears of invasion by hostile catholic forces, so the government took a harsh stance and the pair were executed for treason at Derby on 24th July, two weeks after their arrest. There is an annual pilgrimage to commemorate their martyrdom, sadly cancelled this year due to Covid19. Please remember their sacrifice in your prayers. THE MARIDON BOOKSHOP will be closed today, for one day only. The shop will be open as usual every Friday and Saturday from 12.30 to 3.00pm, as well as for half an hour following 10.00am Mass on Sundays. The Bookshop is located in the Parish Hall with its own access to the rear of the Hall, near to the Presbytery. Visitors to the Shop must comply with the necessary Covid19 safety requirements. We look forward to welcoming you. BOOKING HOTLINE FOR SUNDAY MORNING MASS Places at 10am Sunday Mass must to be reserved. To simplify this process we have a dedicated ‘text hotline’. PRAYER TO SAINT MARY MAGDALENE 'Saint Mary Magdalene, woman of many sins, who by conversion became the beloved of Jesus, thank you for your witness that Jesus forgives through the miracle of love. You, who already possess eternal happiness in His glorious presence, please intercede for me, so that someday I may share in the same everlasting joy. Amen.' .
