Tommy and Wyndee Eastham officially announced the relaunch of Legacy Bloodstock a few weeks ago and the Lexington-based GYARMATI, TREADWAY TEAM UP IN JEROME agency will have its first by Catlyn Spivey consignment in two years at Trainer Leah Gyarmati and owner Jeff Treadway are next week=s Keeneland January all too familiar with racing=s ups and downs. Tommy Eastham formerly newcomer to the business, Treadway of Treadway co-owned Legacy with Mark Racing stables, became a part of Gyarmati=s New York Toothaker and, during a seven- stable a few years ago, and the road has been a bumpy year stretch, the agency sold one. AJeff is a great owner Noble Moon A Coglianese and he really showed a lot of patience. In this business so many things can go wrong and every year it was one thing after another. Last year was the year that nothing went wrong and hopefully things will keep going that way this year.@ Sweet Reason was given a rest after a fourth-place finish in the GI Breeders= Cup Juvenile Fillies, but the team wasted no time bringing up another promising youngster. Noble Moon (Malibu Moon) followed up a wire-to-wire maiden win at Belmont Sept. 14 with a third in the GII Nashua S. Nov. 3. Squeezed at the break, the colt trailed the field early, but made a sweeping six-wide move on the turn and finished third behind Cairo Prince (Pioneerof the Nile). Gyarmati is set to saddle the morning-line favorite for Saturday=s GII Jerome S., and she believes the trouble in the Nashua answered a lot of questions. TE: I think the overall health of the market and just starting to see an emergence of the smaller breeder started it. And, personally, I think it is a good time for me in my career. I=ve learned a lot of lessons and my experiences are greater now. But probably the main reason is just because my kids are showing an interest. If they decide to take this route in the horse business-- which I would love for them to do--one day I would want them to have the ability to do it. TDN: Your family is obviously a big part of the new Legacy. How many kids do you have? TE: We have three young boys--ages 10, 7 and 5. They are wanting to get involved in the business. TDN: So, they=re not on the payroll quite yet! Your wife has worked for Breeders= Cup and NTRA. Will this be the first time you=ll be working together. TE: My wife has been involved in the horse business for a long time and we=ve worked in the same industry working for the same goals, but never side by side. Being able to share this with her is great. TDN: Is it intimidating, are you worried at all, to be working with your wife? TE: It is.
