Part I

1. The Principal’s Report –

Govt. College Pandhana situated in a tribal area of is established on 5th September 2013, by Dept. Of Higher Education, Govt of M.P’s order dated 5th August 2013. This college is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. From the day one of commencement, this college is running in allotted 04 rooms in Govt. Excellence H. S. School, Pandhana. Though we had allotted a new building under MPHEQIP, yet we are unable to shift there because it became Covid Quarantine Centre by District administration, Khandwa. From session 2015-16, the students opted a uniform by their own will and the College is implementing Dress Code till date. The college is running with least available infrastructure, and human resources, with increasing trends in enrolments every year with full occupancy and almost 100 percent results. The college has applied for recognition under 2(F) of U.G.C.

2. Overview

Govt. College Pandhana established on 5th September 2013, by Dept. Of Higher Education, Govt of M.P’s order dated 5th August 2013. This college is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. We at Government College, Pandhana (Khandwa) are dedicated and achieving excellence in Higher Education for our rural students and determined to upgrade employability through their skills. Our mission is improvement in language skill of the students for better employability, also to enhance the standard of education for our rural students at UG level. We are going to provide skill development programme along with soft skills training. We are here to promise, to achieve 100% academic results to build our students as morally strong Indians.

Courses offered – B. A. (3 Y.D.C.)

We had allotted a new building under MPHEQIP, and soon we goint shift at new building, we are unable to shift there because at present it is converted into Covid Quarantine Centre by District administration, Khandwa. College administration is in touch with District Administration to procure attached/nearby land i.e. three hectare more. (As per departmental parameters) After having possession of new building we are planning to commence B. Sc. and B.Com Classes.

3. Senior management team and Board of Governors Administrative Hierarchy One regular Assistant Professor as in-charge Principal, one regular Sports- Officer and one regular Librarian are working in this college. All other posts are lying vacant in the college.

So these two persons are in the management team of the college.

5. The Student Experience.

In session 2019-20, there are 264 students enrolled, out of 264 students 210 students are female that is 80% of total enrolled students. College provides government sponsored scholarships/financial help to students as per govt. norms. We are still operating Library from single almirah placed in the office, for students and due to lack of civil resources we are unable to expand library. Due to unavailability of sports ground we are operating only indoor games. Students are playing chess in the guidance of the sports officer and we are organising district level inter-college Chess tournament of females for the two consecutive sessions i.e. 2017-18 and 2018- 19. This year we had organised district level inter-college Chess tournament of males. The college had 1 regular asst. professor, 1 regular sports officer, 1 regular librarian and 5 guest faculties who are providing informal counselling facility, on various topics.

6. Student’s Achievement

The significant academic achievement is student’s performance in annual exam system of DAVV Indore. Almost every student performed well in exams. Maximum of them had applied for govt. sponsored scholarships, like Post Metric Scholarship, Gaon ki Beti (protasahan yojna), Awas Sahayata Yojna etc. This year our college has ranked 2nd in the inter college Chess tournament of males. And one of our students got selection in the district team of Khandwa for Division level.

7. Research Activities

All the regular and guest faculty had attended so many national webinars during Covid-19 lockdown period.

8. Human Resources

We are producing almost cent percent results with the current team. After possession of new building, college will approach to Dept. of Higher Education to commence B. Sc. and B. Com courses.

9. Events and Initiatives

Students participated in activities of S.V.C.G.S. and P.D.C. proceeding under Higher Education of M.P. Govt.

10. Institutional Development under RUSA and MPHEQIP.

The college didn’t receive any grant/fund in RUSA project, but received Rs 6.50 Crore from Dept. of Higher Education under World Bank Project last year for construction of new building.

Placement Report

Due to lack of Human Resources there are no placement cells. But we are running Swami Vivekanand Career Guidance Scheme and under it we are providing guidance to our students to get jobs. Till date we have 5 pass out batches. Most of them are self-employed in agriculture work, also they prefer and get jobs in school as female teachers. Many more of them had gone for higher studies and some of them are engaged in private jobs.

11. Looking Ahead

Government College, Pandhana (Khandwa) is dedicated to achieve excellence in Higher Education for its rural students and determined to upgrade employability through skills. Our mission is to achieve excellence in language skill of the students and boost confidence for better employability, also to enhance the standard of education for our students, at UG level. We are promised to achieve 100% academic result (at present almost 98%) to build morally strong citizens.
