Hassan Allam Holding Embarks on the Completion of Seven New Infrastructure Water and Wastewater Treatment Projects Hassan Allam Holding embarks on the completion of seven new infrastructure water and wastewater treatment projects We are working to provide clean water to more than 1.5 million people in the most vulnerable villages: Mohamed El Dahshoury We have vast capabilities to implement integrated projects from design through civil and electromechanical works to implementation and operation: Hazem Kamal Cairo - 24th of January 2021 Hassan Allam Holding (HAH), a leading construction and engineering group headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, serving regional and global clients in the Middle East and North Africa, announced that its subsidiaries, Hassan Allam Construction and the International Environmental Technologies Company (Intech), have obtained contracts for seven new infrastructure and water and wastewater treatment projects. The new projects are located in several villages across Egypt, including Tahta in Sohag, Port Fouad in Port Said, Jazra in Giza, Damanhour in Beheira, Abu Kouraks in Minya, Lydia in Beheira, and Masged Mousa in Giza. Mohamed El Dahshoury, CEO of Hassan Allam Construction, commented, "Our latest projects are part of the expansion framework that we are currently pursuing and are inspired by our keenness to actively partake in various national projects that are in line with Egypt's 2030 vision with the ultimate goal of providing a better life for all Egyptians. The new projects would also play a vital role in preserving and developing water resources and developing the infrastructure of seven of Egypt's most vulnerable villages. The seven new projects will collectively have a total output capacity of 170,000 m3/day to serve more than one and a half million people. The group is also on track to deliver the water treatment plant in 6th of October City with a capacity of 400,000 m3/day and the wastewater treatment plant in the New Administrative Capital with a capacity of 250,000 m3/day." "Hassan Allam Construction has also signed an agreement with the Industrial Development Authority to establish the first phase of the infrastructure networks for the wastewater treatment plant in West Tahta in Sohag Governorate. This project is expected to be completed within 30 months. We will build all the infrastructure, from sewage networks and the pumping station to the sewage treatment plant, to provide irrigation water. We will also build a purified water storage tank, a water pumping station, and a treated water storage tank in the industrial zone," he added. Temples were still decorated on a much smaller scale into the third and the beginning of the fourth centuries. The last known cartouche of a Roman emperor in a temple was inscribed under Maximinus Daia (305-13 ce) on blocks belonging to the temple of Horus at Tahta (Holbl 2000: 45 n. 177; 114, fig. 157). Otherwise, the latest evidence comes from Esna (Sauneron 1975:65-6, no. 495; 84-7, no. 503), where the temple of Khnum was still being decorated under Decius (249-51 ce). Stelae inscribed in hieroglyphs continued to be set up in Egyptian temples, for example in the Bucheum at Armant, of which the latest is dated to 340, the fifty-seventh year of the era of Diocletian (Holbl 2000:45 n. 178; Goldbrun- ner 2004:78-9,302). The temple of Isis at Philae, where hieroglyphs were carved in the tem­ ple of Harendotes as late as 394 (Winter 1982:1023), was the last to be kept open, being closed down under Justinian between 535 and 537 (Winter 1982:1026), when it was converted to a church (Dijkstra 2008). The Hellenistic and Roman periods of Egypt are often subsumed under the term ‘Graeco- Roman Egypt’. In his examination of Egyptian society under Ptolemaic and Roman rule, Naphtali Lewis (1970) correctly pointed out that this phrase should not be used to imply con­ tinuity between the two eras, since the changes in the governmental structure, social pat­ terns and politics, administration, and the economy were so fundamental in Roman times as to render the term misleading.

A. 1, Omar, M. M.2 and Tahta districts at Sohag Governorate during two successive years (2014 and Hassan, A. A. G.2 2015). A total of 13 beneficial bird species in the studied area were found: Barn Owl, Black Winged Kite, Cattle Egret, Common Bulbul, Fantailed Warbler, 1 Zoology and Nematology Department, Hoopoe, Kestrl, Little Owl, Spur Winged Plover, Swallow, and Yellow Wag-tail, Faculty of Agriculture, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt Chiffchaff and White Wag-tail. Development programs often miss a disadvantaged population group caught between childhood and adulthood— rural adolescent girls. Ishraq is an intervention designed to address this problem. It is a non- formal second-chance education and social support program that takes place in rural Upper Egypt, the least developed and most disadvantaged region of Egypt. It is the region with the most significant gender gaps in education and along other dimensions. The girls Ishraq targets, rural out-of-school adolescent girls, represent the most vulnerable and disadvantaged target group in Egyptian society. One of the core philosophies of the Ishraq program is that in order to reach girls in these socially-conservative settings, we have to first break their social isolation and create safe public spaces in which they can gather, make friendships, learn, and play. Ishraq is part of the larger Population Council- wide “Safe Spaces” programs. Ishraq aims to transform the lives of out-of school adolescent girls in rural Upper Egypt by providing them with safe public spaces to meet, learn and play, giving them a second chance for education, and helping them acquire the skills necessary to become active members of their communities.
