Goalie Evaluator Andy Neilsen Has Been Developing Goaltenders In Andy Neilsen – Goalie Evaluator Andy Neilsen has been developing goaltenders in Western Canada for over 20 years. He has an extensive background in Goaltending. His playing career includes Junior A, Major Junior and playing professionally. Next Level Goaltending Development Inc. also consults for several minor hockey associations throughout the lower mainland. Andy is a CAHA certified coach and has coached with Yale for the past 3 seasons in addition to Abbotsford Minor Hockey Association for the past 10 years. He is well known in the hockey circles throughout the lower mainland for helping develop elite athletes. Throughout his coaching career he has helped athletes reach their goals ranging from AAA minor hockey, Junior, NCAA College, and the professional ranks. Brandon Underwood – Player Evaluator Played 5 years in the WHL (Kamloops Blazers: 2008-2011, Regina Pats: 2011-2012 (Assistant Captain), Red Deer Rebels: 2012-2013 (Assistant Captain) Played 4 years for the UBC Thunderbirds: 2013-2017 (Assistant Captain) Strength and Conditioning / On-Ice Skills Coach for Factory Hockey Player Development (2016-2017) Strength Coach in the gym with minor hockey and NHL players. Head Skills Coach for Factory Hockey Junior level on-ice sessions. Brandon also has experience serving as a second Assistant Coach to Sven at UBC and as the team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach. Justin Georgeson – Player Evaluator Justin’s experience as a hockey player includes BCMML- North East Chiefs: 2009-10, BCHL- Coquitlam Express: 2010-13, BCHL- Alberni Valley Bulldogs: 2013/14, and CIS-UBC Thunderbirds:2014-16 His coaching experience includes BCHL Development Camps Instructor: 2011-14, and CIS- UBC Thunderbirds Associate Coach: 2016-present. Lukas Simpson Goalies – Goalie Evaluator • 18 years with Magic Hockey • 12 years as a Goaltending Coach, 6 years as a full-time career. • Goalie, Peninsula Panthers, VIJHL (2009-2010) included all-star game, division, league and playoff championships with a silver at provincials. • Goalie, Mission Icebreakers, PJHL (2010-2012) • Goalie Coach, North Vancouver Wolfpack, PJHL 2017-current. • Goalie Coach, Langley Rivermen, BCHL (2017-18) • 2018 to present ACHA Division 1 and 2 Iowa State University Scout and Consultant. Lukas has been a part of the Magic team for the past 15 years. Lukas is currently the goalie coach for the North Vancouver Wolfpack Junior B team in the PJHL. In 2018-2019 the team won the league and playoff championship as well as earned the bronze at provincials. Lukas was also the goalie coach for the Langley Riverman Junior A team of the BCHL in the 2017- 18 season. Lukas has experience working with Initiation through NHL drafted clients. Lukas has also been a part of BC Hockey and Hockey Canada programs helping run camps and clinics for all ages. Lukas enjoys working with young goaltenders explaining and breaking down the technique goalies need to know to improve. With older clients Lukas likes to adapt to their strengths and weaknesses, offer tips, and small tweaks while allowing each goalie to have their own personal style. Commissioner of 2 Junior Leagues (AWHL, NPHL) Owner/Operator/Coach/GM of 2 USA Junior A Hockey clubs over 12 years Youth Hockey Highlights: Implemented the female hockey program at a major association in WA, coaching their 16U AAA team. In 3 years has helped grow female number by 300% at this association. Created and developed a U8 hockey program that was implemented nation-wide by USA Hockey. USA Hockey Level IV Coach USA Coaching Education Personnel Terry Richardson – Player Evaluator Terry was a part of the original New Westminster Bruins from 1971 through 1973, as a Goaltender. He played 7 years of professional hockey, mostly in the minors, and retired in 1980. He went on to become a White Rock Fire Fighter in 1981 and retired in 2008. Terry has been an amateur scout for the Washington Capitals for 10 years and he covers the areas of the AJHL, the BCHL and the Western division of the WHL. He also is a scout for the world U-17's and the World Jr. A Challenge. .

    Recreation and Culture Recreation and Culture is responsible for facility maintenance, community events and sports field bookings. Third Quarter Report, 2019 1 Recreation and Culture Third Quarter Report Recreation and Culture Celebration and Activity Grants Through the months of July, August and September, the Celebration and Activity Grant stream of the Neighbourhood Grant Program supported 31 events with a total of $8,125.04 of grant funding. The events were primarily neighbourhood block party events totaling just over 3,550 guests cumulatively. The Fairy Village Festival was an event to restore a fairy village that had been destroyed by vandalism. The original fairy village was organically created by children in the neighbourhood over the years and held special meaning for the community. With support from the Celebration and Activity Grant, as well as United Way and other local community organizations, approximately 300 children and adults painted and donated various materials to fill the fairy village with whimsy and colour. The Chilliwack Pride BBQ was a first time event that showcased the inclusivity of the community and created a welcoming and safe space for all attendees. The approximately 700 people in attendance enjoyed a variety of food, desserts, games and entertainment, as well as the opportunity to connect with local organizations and learn about their services. There was a sensory-calmed area for guests to retreat to if needed. One attendee said, “You know it was a wonderful event when your cheeks are actually sore from so much smiling.” The Princess Avenue Street Party was a fantastic event for over 200 attendees from four residential blocks in Chilliwack Proper.
