As Board members, it is our responsibility to make sure Marshall is here for generations to come. The role of the Board is to focus on the long-term future of the school and to plan initiatives that keep our school strong. This past year we completed a thorough strategic planning process that gathered feedback and input from students, parents, teachers, school alumni, trustees, and friends of the school. Based on this feedback, the Board identified Strategic Principles that will guide us for the next several years in the following areas: Program Differentiation, Global Connections, Marshall’s Mission in Curriculum and Community, Sustainability, and Facilities. In the fall the Board will adopt specific initiatives for each principle and will communicate them with our Hilltopper community. In mid-October, we welcomed Gene Bratek as the Interim Head of School. Gene will lead the school for the remainder of the school year when a permanent Head of School will be named. His depth of experience allows us to begin implementation of our strategic plan that continues the forward momentum the school has had over the years. As I enter the last year of my nine years on the Board, I’d like to extend a thank you to the many individuals who have made sacrifices and contributions to move our school forward. I have been especially impressed by the dedication and hard work of our teachers, staff and MARSHALL SCHOOL parents.

Abrams began his television career in 1965 with WCBS TV as an account executive and worked his way up through CBS Television national sales to head the West Coast Sales Department in 1971. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed General Sales Manager of KCBS, the CBS-owned station in Los Angeles.     ‘THE WISHING TREE’ PRODUCTIONS BIOS DAN BLATT (Executive Producer) – Daniel H. Blatt was born in Haverstraw, N.Y. to German Holocaust survivors. He graduated from Andover, Duke, and Northwestern Law School, served in the U.S Army and is a member of both the New York and California Bars. Upon his discharge from the Army he practiced law at Livingston, Livingston and Harris, a downtown New York City law firm specializing in commercial transactions. In the summer of 1964 he represented Freedom Summer as a member of the Lawyers Constitutional Defense Committee arriving in Jackson, Mississippi, two days after Schwerner, Chaney and Goodman disappeared. Upon returning to New York he joined the Legal Aid Society (criminal division) and tried at least 1000 criminal cases over the next three years. Thereafter, he worked as an attorney for ABC Pictures, became Executive Vice President at Palomar Pictures (“Sleuth,” “Heartbreak Kid,” “Stepford Wives,” “The Taking of Pelham 123”) and then moved to California to produce commercial feature films such as “Cujo,” “The Howling,” “The Boost,” “ I Never Promised You A Rose Garden,” and acclaimed television films such as “Raid On Entebbe” (11 nominations ), “Common Ground,” (Humanitas Award), “Sadat” (1 Emmy ® nomination), “Sworn To Silencek,” (1 Emmy ®), “Saving Millie,” (Humanitas nominee), “The Virginian,” three Christmas movies starring Peter Falk and the groundbreaking mini-series and series “V.” The Hallmark Channel Original Movie, “The Wishing Tree” is Blatt’s homage to his days at Andover. ### SHAWN WILLIAMSON (Executive Producer) – With over 20 years experience, Shawn Williamson has risen to the forefront of the Canadian film and television industry as a leading independent film and television producer.

Then there was the Third, and the Third was given the first choice, continue along the path of broken futility, or descend, and at the cost of oblivion become more. Then there was more, then there was life. The first life broke and shattered at the cost of the Third and the first death, but then came more, and life spread to all corners of existence, to even the depths of space, the children of the Third. Order fell first, and broke, leaving it’s scattered ashes across life, giving them the desire for more, faith in something greater and all the pain it causes. Corruption fell slower, and broke into shards, gods in between the cracks of oblivion, some intent upon seizing the forming existence, others content to await the day their time would come, as all that is, is doomed to break and die. This was the inception of our existence, of which our small universe is only a very small part of. Before this universe there was another, in which the bastards of corruption attempted to force entry into this reality at the heat death of the universe, to become consumers of the next one after, they built cults and bade them to work in the places they could not reach, and readied their entrance, what they did not suspect that the little monsters that had infested this existence had the gall to oppose them.
