Suzuka 8 Hours 2018 Information Media UNE TRES GRANDE FINALE A SUZUKA La grande finale du championnat FIM EWC 2017-2018 se profile donc comme une course à très grand spectacle le 29 juillet au Japon. Honneur au vainqueur ! Yamaha, qui reste sur trois victoires consécutives aux Suzuka 8 Hours, vise deux objectifs au Japon. Le priorité : une quatrième victoire pour le Yamaha Factory Racing Team qui aligne Katsuyuki Nakasuga, Alex Lowes et Michael van der Mark fin juillet à Suzuka. Autre objectif, un deuxième titre consécutif de champion du monde FIM EWC pour le GMT94 Yamaha qui défendra sa couronne mondiale avec David Checa, Niccolò Canepa et Mike Di Meglio alors que le YART Yamaha avec Broc Parkes, Marvin Fritz et Takuya Fujita, cherchera aussi à clore sa saison en beauté. Honda en force Pour enrayer la série de victoires Yamaha, Honda frappe très fort cette année. Il y a d’abord le retour, après dix ans d’absence, du Team HRC qui confie sa CBR1000RR SP2 à Takumi Takahashi, Takaaki Nakagami et à Patrick Jacobsen qui remplace Leon Camier, initialement prévu mais blessé lors des tests. Comme Yamaha, Honda vise la victoire aux Suzuka 8 Hours avec sa machine officielle mais aussi le premier titre de champion du monde FIM EWC pour une équipe japonaise, le F.C.C. TSR Honda France (Freddy Foray, Josh Hook et Alan Techer), qui arrive à Suzuka en tête du classement mondial. Toute une armada Honda sera au départ avec le Musashi RT Harc-Pro Honda (Dominique Aegerter, Randy de Puniet et Ryo Mizuno) déjà vainqueur à trois reprises à Suzuka, KYB Moriwaki Motul Racing (Ryuichi Kiyonari, Yuki Takahashi et Dan Linfoot) ou encore le Au&Teluru MotoUp RT (Kosuke Akiyoshi, Tetsuta Nagashima et Isaac Viñales) et le Honda Dream RT Sakurai (Sodo Hamahara et Shinichi Ito). Suzuki et Kawasaki concentrent leurs efforts Yoshimura Suzuki Motul Racing sera la machine de pointe Suzuki avec Takuya Tsuda, Sylvain Guintoli, Bradley Ray et Kazuki Watanabe. Le trio final sera annoncé ultérieurement. La GSX-R du MotoMapSupply sera aussi à surveiller avec Yoshihiro Konno, Josh Waters et Nobuatsu Aoki tout comme la Suzuki Endurance Racing Team de Vincent Philippe, Etienne Masson et Gregg Black qui fera tout pour reprendre pied dans le Top5 au classement mondial. Le clan Kawasaki a déjà marqué les esprits en annonçant l’entrée en piste le trio Kazuma Watanabe, Jonathan Rea et Leon Haslam au Kawasaki Team Green. Eva RT Webike Trick Star (Anthony West, Osamu Deguchi et Mathieu Gines) défendra aussi les couleurs Kawasaki. BMW bien représenté Alors que Mercury Racing (Karel Hanika, Sylvain Barrier et Ondřej Ježek) et NRT48 (Kenny Foray, Peter Hickman et Julien da Costa) vont se disputer les meilleures places BMW au classement mondial, on surveillera deux autres S1000RR, la BMW Motorrad 39 avec Daisaku Sakai et les frères Damian et Alex Cudlin, et la BMW Financial Services avec Shinya Takeishi, Michael Laverty et Christian Iddon.
