II. REQUIREMENTS • Wheelchair accessibility to stage is required. • Optimum stage size: 40’ opening by 36’ deep; Minimum stage Size: 36’ opening by 28’ deep • Sprung dance floor with smooth, clean dancing surface. Most of the time it will be necessary to lay a Marley floor. • Minimum electric high trim 20’. Preferred high trim 24’. • 3-4 evenly spaced wings on each side of the stage with a minimum of 6 feet between each wing. • Black borders to mask overhead lighting are preferred. • Full stage width Black Velour Drop which must either fly or be on a traveler track • Full stage width Black Sharkstooth scrim. • Full stage width White with a white bounce, or a white plastic (rear projection cyc). • Wheelchair accessible crossover behind stage will be required. • Wheelchair accessible dressing room, make-up area and bathroom for 6-8 artists. • Quick change areas with prop tables, chairs and running lights stage left and / or stage right for changes. • Temperature of all areas must be a minimum of 68 degrees. • Stage, wings, and crossover must be reasonably clear of house equipment and must be swept and mopped prior to each rehearsal and performance. • Stage shall be available to AXIS Dance Company from beginning of load-in until final performance and strike are complete. No other use of the stage or dressing rooms during this time is permitted without prior approval from the AXIS Production Manager. • Stage dressing rooms and equipment storage areas must be available to AXIS at least three hours prior to each performance. • (See Appendices for piece specific requirements)

III. HOUSE REQUIREMENTS • House must be wheelchair accessible with accessible bathrooms and adequate wheelchair

Page 1 of 5 accessible seating for people using wheelchairs. • Sales of refreshments, souvenirs, or other items must also be accessible. • A table for company information.

IV. • Sufficient cable to circuit lighting system according to the AXIS Dance Company light plot. • Color Media will be provided by the Producer unless otherwise arranged for.

All equipment must be in reliable working order. In order to facilitate a timely load-in, it is crucial that the cues be loaded into the board prior to AXIS’ arrival. AXIS’ Lighting Director will provide the venue with a disk, digital file or track sheets prior to our arrival.

Prior to AXIS’ arrival, the full light plot must be hung, circuited, colored and in working order. Time lost at focus for troubleshooting will impair our ability to provide a full show on time. Note: Booms must be circuited from above. Absolutely no cable can be run between booms on stage floor.

V. SOUND • Music for AXIS is recorded in stereo on CD. • 2 CD players for playback will be required. • AXIS requires 2 wireless handheld microphones. • For the house system, generally, 2-4 house speakers that can produce an even and clear distribution of the signal, two stage monitor speakers, suitable amplifiers capable of powering all speakers and 12 channel input mixing board with outboard graphic EQ suits our needs. In addition a set of Sub-woofers is generally preferable. As the acoustics of every space are different, we will have different needs depending on the size and sound quality of your space. We may need additional equipment depending on the repertory to be performed.

Headset Communications must be provided for all rehearsals, performances, and sound checks: 1 Stage manager (in booth or offstage during performances, at tech table for rehearsals) 1 1 Sound Operator 3 Backstage **Additionally, some form of paging system as well as stage monitor speakers should be provided backstage and in the dressing rooms.

VI. DOCUMENTATION We would like arrangements to be made for video documentation of at least one show of a run. A camera operator and a video camera of reasonable quality should be provided for one run of the show.

VII. CREW Page 2 of 5 Load in Crew: Sufficient number of crew to load in, hang soft goods, lay dance floor and to hang, circuit and focus lighting equipment. The number of crew shall be mutually agreed upon by Producer and the Production Manager for AXIS Dance Company.

Minimum Running Crew for Tech Rehearsal and Performance: 1- Light Board Operator 1- Sound Engineer 2- Back for color changes in booms AND scenic changes. If crew does not cross over departments 4 Stagehands may be necessary. 1- Flyman /Curtain Operator 1- Wardrobe Person

Show day: Crew Call 2 hours before doors: 1 Sound Op, 1 Light Op, 2 Deck hands, 1 Flyman

Typical Load-in & Tech Schedules: 2-day Residency: Day 1 9-2 Load in 2-3 PM Lunch 3-8 PM Tech Part 1 (Prep ) 5-8 pm includes Dancers

Day 2: Tech + Show: 9-12 Q work/Audio -TBD 12:30-2:00 pm – Company Class (on stage or alternate space) 2-6 PM Tech Part 2 6 PM Show Call 7 PM Wardrobe 8 PM Show

VIII. COMPANY CLASS & WARM-UP SPACE AND TIME When stage is not available for company class/warm-up, presenter will provide Artist with company class/warm-up time in a studio or theater with dimensions at least 36’ wide and 28’ deep during the AXIS residency to be arranged with the company prior to their arrival.

IX. DRESSING ROOMS Dressing rooms and toilets shall be cleaned prior to AXIS Dance Company arrival • 2 large chorus dressing rooms, or smaller rooms, sufficient to handle 6 women and 2 men. • Mirror, table space, and adequate lighting for makeup application • Hot and cold running water, sink, shower, and toilet facilities convenient to dressing rooms • Ability to lock and secure dressing rooms • Staff or other means of ensuring company privacy before, during, and after all rehearsals and performances

X. LAUNDRY AND WARDROBE • AXIS Dance Company must have access to laundry facilities • Costume racks must be available in each dressing room and on stage right and left if dressing room is inconveniently distanced from stage. • We will also require an industrial strength steamer and a wardrobe person able to use it.

Page 3 of 5 XI. PARKING Parking space, and permit if required, must be provided for 2 automobiles, in close proximity to theater. Space and permits must be available at no cost to AXIS Dance Company.

XII. CATERING Note: Hospitality will be arranged through AXIS’ Company Administrator, Breanna Lee at [email protected] prior to arrival of AXIS. • Heavy snacks such as: bananas, apples, hummus & veggies, pita chips, nuts, granola bars & hard boiled eggs will be provided by noon on the day of the performance • A catered dinner to include a protein, veggie and carb option will be provided around 5 pm the day of the performance. Vegetarian options must be made available. • Assorted juices, soda, coffee, bottled water, coconut water and HOT water • For load-in days coffee, water and snacks should be provided for local and AXIS crew.
