DAY 2: TUESDAY, MAY 28, 2019 BAD KOHLGRUB (D) Arrive in Munich International Airport, where your full-time bilingual tour manager will welcome you to Germany. Begin your exploration right away as you join a local guide for a walking tour through Munich’s city center, to see the Marienplatz, Old Town Hall, and famous Glockenspiel. Transfer through Bavaria, en- route to Bad Kohlgrub. Along the way there is a stop for lunch. This afternoon, enjoy an alpine slide adventure with an ascent by chair lift and a summer toboggan run with 41 s-turns and 17 steep curves at the Blombergbahn. Sightseeing continues, as you transfer to King Ludwig II’s spectacular Schloss Neuschwanstein for a tour with audio guide. Local coach service is provided up to the castle, and after your visit there is time for a leisurely descent, complete with magical views from Mary’s Bridge. In creating his fairytale castle, Ludwig was inspired by th e operas of his friend, composer Richard Wagner; much later, Disney found inspiration for his own Sleeping Beauty castle. Watch the ground drop away as you travel to the 1905-meter high Seegrube, and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Europe’s steepest ski slope, spot climbers on the rocky face of the Karwendel, and wonder at the breathtaking panoramic views. Further up the mountain, you’ll reach the 2256-meter high Hafelekar. The adjacent park features more than 3000 species of wildlife. Explore with your guide, before returning to Innsbruck by cable car. Prepare for your evening concert in the area! DAY 6: SATURDAY, JUNE 1, 2019 BADEN BIE WIEN (B/L/D) Your journey across Austria continues as you traverse the country. Lunch is included today, at a local restaurant along the storied Danube River. This afternoon join local guides for a somber visit of the nearby Mauthausen Memorial along with a workshop to help better understand. By the summer of 1940, this had become one of the largest labour camp complexes in German-controlled Europe. The camps here were one of the first massive complexes in Nazi Germany, and were the last ones to be liberated by the Allies. Continue on to the spa village of Baden Bie Wien, on the outskirts of Vienna. Dinner is included at a local restaurant this evening. Prymak Amid the splendours of the Vatican Museum in Rome, amongst the lush and abundant canvases of Raphael and other great artists, hangs an exceptionally large painting depicting the defeat of the last great invasion of Europe by the Turks: the relief of the 1683 siege of Vienna by a coalition of Christian forces led by the king of Poland, John III, also known as Jan Sobieski.1 Sobieski was the last king of Poland to attempt to restore his country’s power and glory before the steady decline and final disappearance of that state in the late eighteenth century, and he is written into the early modern history of Europe as the man who symbolized the repulse of that power- ful Ottoman attempt to conquer Europe, or, as it was seen then, the last Muslim invasion of Christendom. Here’s how Vienna turned a series of major economic and geopolitical challenges to its advantage. Introduction In the mid-1980s, when Vienna presented its first urban development plan, the city government expected the population to decline and foresaw serious challenges for its urban economy. However, geopolitical transformations prompted a fresh wave of immigration to Vienna, so the city needed to adapt fast and develop new initiatives. A new spirit of urban development emerged. Vienna’s remarkable migration-driven growth took place in three phases: • first, the population grew rapidly between 1989 and 1993 • then it grew again between 2000 and 2006 • and finally from 2010 until today the population has been growing steadily and swiftly, by on average around 22,000 people per year • This means an addition of nearly 350,000 inhabitants since 1989.

    THE TALLINN DECLARATION ON THE FUTURE OF SMR LICENSING We, gathered in Tallinn, Estonia, NOTING the formation of the European SMR Alliance in January 2020 with the goal of facilitating wide-spread Small Modular Reactor (“SMR”) deployment in Europe by the 2030s; RECOGNISING the urgent response needed to meet the European Union’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050; BELIEVING that SMRs can make a significant contribution to low-carbon energy mixes in the European Union and globally; RESPECTFUL of the role of nuclear regulatory bodies in ensuring safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear energy; COGNISANT of the impact of nuclear licensing processes and regulatory matters on the business case for SMRs, design criteria, development of supply chains and overall viability of SMR deployment; CONSCIOUS that effective and efficient utilisation of experienced global human resources in reactor licensing is necessary; and CONVINCED that SMR vendors and future SMR licensees must proactively engage with regulators in their own countries and in key jurisdictions around the world to promote the optimal way forward for SMR licensing, Hereby support and will promote the following principles of SMR licensing: 1. A pragmatic approach to SMR licensing must be employed to overcome licensing and regulatory challenges and reduce SMR project risk relating to nuclear regulation and the licensing process. 2. SMR design standardisation must be facilitated to the greatest extent possible. 3. In developing or updating the regulatory framework applicable to SMRs, host country nuclear regulatory bodies should seek to facilitate regulatory harmonisation. Regulatory frameworks should be based on the International Atomic Energy Agency (“IAEA”) Safety Standards (as applicable to the relevant SMR(s)) and implement European Union Nuclear Safety Directives, as well as give due consideration to compatibility with relevant vendor/reference plant country-of-origin or other experienced nuclear country’s regulatory regimes.
