The boundary includes several villages, hamlets and rural areas as well as the urban area of Pool and Illogan Highway. The southern boundary is the village of Four Lanes, to the east Carnkie and Carn Brea Village, to the north Pool and West Tolgus and to the west part of Tuckingmill and Brea. The Council owns approximately 21 acres of land. This is made up of a park at Wheal Fortune, heath at Carn Brea Hill, an open space in Pool and an historic well in Carn Brea Village. Carn Brea Monument was transferred from Cornwall Council to the Parish Council (as a Community Asset Transfer) on 125 year lease in May 2012.

Remembrance Service The Carn Brea Parish Council Remembrance Service was held on Sunday, 6th November 2016. The Chairman of the Parish Councillor Robert Drew welcomed members of the Parish. The service was conducted by Father Peter Fellows, with Mr. R. Barrett leading the Act of Remembrance. Mr. Tom French acted as Parade Marshall. Redruth Town Band accompanied the hymns and a member of the band played the Reveille. Wreaths were laid on behalf of Cornwall Council, Illogan Parish Council, Camborne Town Council, Illogan Royal British Legion, Gwennap Royal British Legion, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, RAF Association, First Pool Brownies, 1st Pool Rainbows and Parachute Regimental Association. This year, for the first time, Carn Brea Parish Council Awards decorated the lamp posts in Moorfield Mrs. Pat Coombe presented the Clarence Coombe Award to Road with giant poppies obtained from Mrs. Reid. The award was dedicated to RSPCA Inspector the Royal British Legion. Mike Reid, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to his work. Community updates An Award for local people was presented to Mrs. Helen Page for her work in the community. The decommissioned BT telephone kiosk at Piece (outside the Countryman Inn) has been painted by our maintenance team to retain it as a local landmark. Spring/autumn bulbs have been plated in various areas in the Parish to bring a splash of colour into the community. Residents of Pencoys asked for the Pencoys/Four Lanes road signs to keep alive the distinction and history between the villages and conserve their separate heritages. Grateful thanks to the members of the public who generously contributed to the cost of manufacture and siting of the new signs.

Carol Concert 6th December 2016 There was standing room only at the carol concert. Councillor Drew has been able to highlight matters relative to Carn Brea Parish and reports that Police action and support have been excellent. The Liaison Group also creates the working relationship to share community safety ideas across local councils, and to be able to liaise with our local Police in respect of immediate important concerns. Treloweth Community Hall and Open Space Much credit is due to Inspector Hannaford.
