Abstract Over the last few decades, health evidence has been building for hibiscus tea (Hibiscus sabdariffa L. Malvaceae). Previous reviews show promise in relation to reducing cardiovascular risk factors, hypertension and hyperlipidaemia, but broader health perspectives have not been widely considered. Therefore, a scoping review was undertaken to examine the overall health effects of hibiscus tea. A PubMed search was undertaken for meta- analysis (MA) and systematic review papers, human randomised controlled trials (RCT) and laboratory publications investigating inter-relationships between hibiscus tea and health. Twenty-two publications were identified (four systematic/MA papers, nine human RCT controlled trials and nine laboratory publications).Strongest evidence exists in relation to cardiovascular disease, suggesting that drinking 2-3 cups daily (each ≈ 240-250 mL) may improve blood pressure and potentially serve as a preventative or adjunctive therapy against such conditions. -

Tea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 03-11-09 12:04 Tea From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Tea is the agricultural product of the leaves, leaf buds, and internodes of the Camellia sinensis plant, prepared and cured by various methods. "Tea" also refers to the aromatic beverage prepared from the cured leaves by combination with hot or boiling water,[1] and is the common name for the Camellia sinensis plant itself. After water, tea is the most widely-consumed beverage in the world.[2] It has a cooling, slightly bitter, astringent flavour which many enjoy.[3] The four types of tea most commonly found on the market are black tea, oolong tea, green tea and white tea,[4] all of which can be made from the same bushes, processed differently, and in the case of fine white tea grown differently. Pu-erh tea, a post-fermented tea, is also often classified as amongst the most popular types of tea.[5] Green Tea leaves in a Chinese The term "herbal tea" usually refers to an infusion or tisane of gaiwan. leaves, flowers, fruit, herbs or other plant material that contains no Camellia sinensis.[6] The term "red tea" either refers to an infusion made from the South African rooibos plant, also containing no Camellia sinensis, or, in Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other East Asian languages, refers to black tea. Bulletproof Coffee and Tea Recipe
Bulletproof Coffee and Butter Tea Bulletproof coffee is Dave Asprey’s variation of butter tea. One of the main reasons I can see to do this is to help your body to learn to burn fat with ease. Being able to easily burn fat when carbohydrates aren’t readily available will keep your energy and performance at a much better level. Having Bulletproof coffee in the morning helps extend your night-time fast. Our bodies don’t consider fat to be in the same category of calories as proteins, sugars, and starches, so the processes associated with breaking your fast don’t come into play when you take coffee, butter, and some variant of MCT or coconut oil in the morning. Specifically, fat does not raise insulin appreciably. Periodic fasting of this type is immensely helpful in decreasing inflammation and pain. Obviously, if you have coffee and breakfast, this is another matter. For Dave Asprey’s recipe, see: https://www.bulletproofexec.com/bulletproof-coffee-recipe/ Some highlights from Asprey’s recipe and his discussion: • Coffee in the US and Canada is not tested for mold, unlike coffee in many European countries. About one third of the population is sensitive to even small amounts of mold. If the coffee has a bit of mold, it is possible that the person will react to it, thinking that they can’t tolerate coffee. Asprey likes his coffee so much that he decided to import it himself, testing it at each step of the way to make sure that it is of the highest quality and free of mold contamination. -
