Le partite si giocheranno su 14 campi di città e provincia Brescia scende in campo col Torneo delle Regioni Parlerà molto bresciano la 54a edizione del Torneo delle Regioni che si disputerà in Lombardia da sabato 30 maggio portando in campo le rappresentative Juniores, Allievi, Giovanissimi, Calcio femminile, Calcio a 5 maschie e femminile di tutte le regioni italiane. La provincia di Brescia ospiterà alcune gare della manifestazione assieme a Varese, Milano, Monza Brianza, Bergamo e Lecco grazie «all´eccellenza delle strutture e dei propri impianti», come spiegato durante la presentazione da Felice Belloli e Il presidente regionale Baretti con il presidente della Lnd Belloli Giuseppe Baretti, rispettivamente presidente della Lega dilettanti e del comitato regionale lombardo. Quattordici i campi scelti: Brescia (centro San Filippo e Villaggio Badia), Calcinato, Castegnato, Castenedolo, Ciliverghe, Concesio, Erbusco, Gavardo, Manerba, Rezzato, Rodengo Saiano, San Zeno, Travagliato. L´ESORDIO provinciale domenica 31 maggio alle 9.30 con le gare della categoria Giovanissimi: Trento-Sardegna al centro sportivo Villaggio Badia, mentre contemporaneamente a Castegnato la Lombardia giocherà contro l´Umbria. September 2019 A “Bordeaux wine” is any wine produced in the Bordeaux region (an official Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) of France, centered on the city of Bordeaux and covering the whole of France’s Gironde Department. This single wine region in France is six times the size of Napa Valley, and with more than 120,000 Ha of vineyards it is larger than all the vineyard regions of Germany combined. It includes over 8,600 growers. Bordeaux is generally viewed as the most prestigious wine-producing area in the world. In fact, many consider Bordeaux the birthplace of modern wine culture. As early as the 13th century, barges docked along the wharves of the Gironde River to pick up wine for transport to England. Bordeaux is the largest producer of high-quality red wines in the world, and average years produce nearly 800 million bottles of wine from ~7000 chateaux, ranging from large quantities of everyday table wine to some of the most expensive and prestigious wines known. (In France, a “chateau” simply refers to the buildings associated with vineyards where the wine making actually takes place; it can be simple or elaborate, and while many are large historic structures they need not be.) About 89% of wine produced in Bordeaux is red (red Bordeaux is often called "Claret" in Great Britain, and occasionally in the U.S.), with sweet white wines (most notably Sauternes), dry whites (usually blending Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon), and also (in much smaller quantities) rosé and sparkling wines (e.g., Crémant de Bordeaux) collectively making up the remainder. -

And yet, as the second-born of two, I believe “second” can also signal something of worth, especially when it comes to the second wines of winemakers who are first-rate. What’s known as a second or second-label wine might be produced from grapes that didn’t make the cut for a winery’s flagship bottling. Or it might be made by the same winemaking team as the flagship, but in a different location, with different types of grapes. Often it’s a wine made in larger quantities than a producer’s “first” wine and priced much lower. The second-label concept probably originated in Bordeaux, where a winery’s first-label bottling is known as its grand vin. 108 FRANCE THE LIBOURNAIS AND FRONSADAIS The right bank of the Dordogne River, known as THE GARAGISTE EFFECT the Libournais district, is red-wine country. In 1979, Jacques Thienpont, owner of Pomerol’s classy Vieux Château Certan, unintentionally created what would become the Dominated by the Merlot grape, the vineyards “vin de garagiste” craze, when he purchased a neighboring plot here produce deep-colored, silky- or velvety-rich of land and created a new wine called Le Pin. ROBERSON WINE PRESENTS: THE HAUT-BRIONFAMILY THURSDAY NOVEMBER 19th 2009 THE HAUT-BRION The history FAMILY HAUT-BRION The history of Chateau Haut-Brion is perhaps the most important of all for the wines of Bordeaux, if not the entire world of fine wine. It is an estate that has innovated and broken new boundaries while establishing Bordeaux’s reputation as the world’s most prestigious grape growing and wine making region. Today, the vineyards of Pessac-Leognan have been enveloped by the suburban sprawl of Bordeaux, creat- ing a somewhat bizarre environment compared to the more rural splendour of other famous appellations across the rest of France. It all started back in the early 1300s, just down the road from Haut Brion at what is now Chateau Pape-Clement, when this northerly part of the ‘Graves’ region (named because of the gravelly soils) was planted to the vine by Pope Clement V. It was over two hundred years later that Haut-Brion was planted, but the man that did it (Jean de Pontac) would create an estate that would go on to change the world of wine forever and dictate the fortunes of the surrounding area. After taking the lands of ‘Aubrion’ as a wedding dowry, Jean de Pontac planted the vineyards and built the chateau. Having created the estate, Jean passed it to his son Arnaud on his death (having lived until 101 years old!) before in turn it was passed to his nephew Geoffroy and then his son Arnaud de Pontac III. This is where the Haut-Brion story begins to gather pace, as Arnaud sent his son (Francois-Auguste, pictured right) to London in order to spread the word about Bordeaux’s (and the world’s) first single estate red wine. -
