This was an It’s been nice to hear our accent, peculiar phrases and the unexpected and most pleasurable surprise! banter on the street. However, I’d like to say something about Ukraine.

During my stay there, Panorama and other British media coverage of Euro 2012 scared many British people from visiting Ukraine.

During my time in Lviv I am happy to say that I was warmly welcomed and all of my friends from who visited were also made to feel very welcome. Lviv itself is a wonderful old city, full of bustling cafes and bars, which I would recommend to anyone, regardless of age.

I’d also like to thank the people who made my time there what it was, my Ukrainian friends, whose kindness and warmth echoed the mentality of those who make our area a great place to be in. I came from to share this special occasion in Shildon, because the people are so welcoming and friendly.
