MacKenzie was a long-time Captiva resident, dividing her time between the island, Lake Forest, Illinois and the Red Rock Ranch near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She was passionate in preserving our envi ronment. Among her board commitments were an early member of Lake Forest Open Lands, where she later served as its president, the Illinois and Wyoming Nature Conservancy Boards, the National Parks and Conservation Board and Lake Forest Garden Club. MacKenzie also was active in her church, the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, was a trustee of the Ethel Walker School, located in Simsbury, Connecticut, and was an avid golfer. Debby MacKenzie “Her contributions to the Captiva Island Historical Society were enormous,” said Jim Pigott, president of CIHS. “Debby and her husband, David, were in our first oral history film, and she provided insights and support at our board meeting just weeks before she died.” Debby MacKenzie died on May 11. She is survived by her husband, David, four children and 12 grandchildren. The CIHS is a 501(3)c organization. Mountaineer Senior Reviews ...........................................................................................4 Highlights, honors, superlatives and fi nal statistics for the 22 Mountaineers who completed their careers in 2012. 2009 Season In Review ..................................................................................................48 Bill Stewart’s record after two years is the second-best mark among all WVU head coaches who have coached during the long and storied history of Mountaineer football. Each of his two seasons, he has totaled nine wins and led his program to a second-place fi nish in the BIG EAST Conference, a Top 25 national ranking and a bowl appearance. However, the difference between the 2008 and 2009 seasons was the Gator Bowl appearance. 2010 Season In Review ..................................................................................................56 The West Virginia football program has shown consistency during Bill Stewart's head coaching tenure. The Mountaineers fi nished with a third straight nine-win season and posted a 5-2 mark in the BIG EAST. However, in 2010, Connecticut, Pitt and West Virginia fi nished with identical league marks and each claimed a piece of the league title. That marked the sixth conference title won by West Virginia, most by any school in the league. 2011 Season In Review ..................................................................................................66 "Adversity doesn’t build character, it reveals it” – But never has a statement been more true about one group than it was about the 2011 West Virginia football program. WVU was faced with a tremendous amount of adversity throughout the season.

It contains updated information through the conclusion of the 2016 campaign. Mountaineer Senior Reviews ..............................................................................................3 Highlights, honors, superlatives and final statistics for the 22 Mountaineers who completed their careers in 2016. 2013 Season In Review ..................................................................................................42 Three words that come to mind when summing up the 2013 West Virginia football season were inexperience, inconsistency and injuries, and the Mountaineers had plenty of each, resulting in a 4-8 record and tying for seventh place in the second year of Big 12 competition. 2014 Season In Review ..................................................................................................50 West Virginia played the toughest schedule in school history during the 2014 season, facing fiveteams ranked in the Top 12 nationally. However, facing such a tough schedule still didn’t hinder WVU from showing improvement, as it finished with a 7-6 record, had a 5-4 mark in its third year in the Big 12 Conference, its highest conference finish and made an appearance in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. 2015 Season In Review ..................................................................................................59 One of the top accomplishments for the Mountaineer senior class in 2015 was to finish with the most wins (8) by a WVU football team since becoming a Big 12 Conference member. The WVU seniors also led the program to a bowl game for the third time during their careers and won the Cactus Bowl. WVU finished with an 8-5 record, tied for fifth in the Big 12 Conference and earned the 15th bowl win in the school’s history.
