Our host hotel is the beautiful InnSuites Tucson City Center in Tucson, Arizona. We have a great room rate of $89.00 per night for a Studio Queen (2 beds) or a Studio King (1 bed). The Executive/Family Suites are 2 room suites with a rate of $99.00 for King (1 bed) or Queen (2 beds) and this includes a convertible sofa in the living area. All rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator and the hotel provides a free hot break‐ fast buffet every morning. You must state that you will be attending the American Whippet Club Spe‐ cialty and please let them know if you are coming with dogs or without dogs. Reservations can be made by calling 1‐520‐622‐3000 or on the hotel web site at : http://stmarys.innsuites.com. NOTE: All of the King and Queen Suites are sold out! NO EXPENS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE GRASS IN THE COURTYARD AREAS.

Donna Lynch is the Chairperson for our Trophies this year. You can contact Donna at 508‐636‐0705 or [email protected]. We have beautiful Horsehair Pottery from the Navajo Nation for trophies and donations are always appreciated. Check the web site to see pictures of the trophies.

The RV Parking, Vendor Application, Catalog Advertising, Catalog Pre‐Order and Logo Shirt forms are available on the web site and they will be included in the next several issues of The Whippet News. All deadlines will be March 1, 2010. Please try to get your forms sent in ASAP.

Included in this issue of Whippet News is the information on the Special Dinners and The Wrap‐It‐Up Closing Party. Instead of having a sit down buffet type dinner (which was getting too high in cost), it was decided to have a Cocktail Party instead. I know that everyone wants to get a chance to say their good‐byes and congratulations that night. What better way to circulate than to have a cocktail party. The type of Hors D’oeuvers we will be having are sure to fill you up and we will be having Margarita and Champagne Stations along with the cash bar! If you have any questions, please email Connie or Rhonda.

There will be a Race Meet on Saturday, April 17. This meet is sponsored by River City Racing Association and I want to thank Jean Balint for taking care of this.

We will be looking for volunteers to help in all areas of the specialty, from the performance events to clean up duties. Please drop us an email if you would like to help for a few hours with one of the many jobs at the National.

Please check the website on a regular basis for information. We have been adding to the site as we go along and more will be coming in the future. Official Web Site - WWW.AWC2010.COM Email: [email protected]

Dear Vendor:

The American Whippet Club is hosting its 24th National Specialty at the Inn Suites Hotel in Tucson, AZ. National activities begin at the hotel on Monday, April 19, 2010 and run through Saturday, April 24, 2010 culminating with our Best of Breed Competition.

Booth removal and clean up of your area must be completed within four hours following the conclusion of judging on Saturday, April 24th. All trash is to be placed in proper receptacles. Vendors should be aware that the ballroom will be locked up at night but please do NOT leave items out on your tables.

Cost is $175.00 for a 10’ space, which includes one 6’ table, tablecloth and skirting and two chairs. Payment must accompany your application form. Applications must be received by February 1, 2010. Space assignment is on a first come, first served basis. Maximum footage allowed per vendor will be 20 feet. Booths can be no more than 6 feet deep, including the table. Nothing may touch, lean or be attached to the walls. The cost for space is a flat fee for the entire week, no pro‐rations. Electrical hook‐ups will be available on a limited basis at no charge. Booth spaces will be assigned by the Vendor Chair. All unloading, set up, tear down and clean up is the responsibility of the vendor. The club, its agents, show committee, and members assume no responsibility for any loss, damage to property, or theft. Full payment is required when the form is returned. No applications for space will be considered unless accompanied by payment in full. All returned checks will cancel booth space and will jeopardize future booth space. Requirements as outlined in this letter shall be considered a part of the contract for vendor space.

“Wyatt” 9/2/95 - 11/18/09

I was with Lisa the day she picked up Wyatt in New Mexico and he rode home in my lap. What a good puppy he was and I’ve had a love affair with him ever since. He started out as Fat Paulie Villano because Lisa couldn’t decide on what to call him.

Wyatt suited him just fine and he was always Wy-Wy to me. Even after not seeing me for a year, he always remembered me.

I’m going to miss his “quiet woo-woo” and watching him coursing a big field but I know he’s chasing bunnies in heaven with Eliot, Dizzy, Dugan, Dutch and Tabor with a big grin on his face.

I loved you too Wy-Wy, Cindy

This will enable us to use the original files to ensure correct output. l WNAnnual final trim size: 8.5” x 11” l MARGINS of .5” (1/2”) should be allowed on all sides of page for anything deemed important (text, dog parts, etc). I would recommend allowing .75” (3/4”) on the bound edge for anything important. l BLEEDS should be +.125” (1/8”) on all sides (8.75” x 11.25”), however original margins requirements still apply (see above) l Black and white ads must be submitted in GRAYSCALE, whether they are hard copy originals or digital files. l Color ads must be submitted in CMYK. l Include a hard copy, jpg, or pdf PROOF of your ad, so we know what it’s supposed to look like. l LABEL ALL ELECTRONIC FILES with the advertiser’s NAME (not kennel name), the page number and position; for example: “Smith p1L.pdf”, “Smith p2R.pdf” If a file contains more than one page, be sure to specify whether the ads begin on a LEFT or RIGHT side page. l Sorry, but FILM is longer accepted. The printer has had too many problems with provided film. Please submit files as specified, or let us do the set-up for you. l Pedigree Section pages cannot be submitted as camera ready.
