2019 BOWIE BAYSOX GAME NOTES Monday, April 29, 2019 - 6:35 p.m. Prince George's Stadium -- Bowie, MD Richmond Flying Squirrels (8-12) at Bowie Baysox (5-18) RHP Logan Webb (1-2, 2.14 ERA) vs. LHP Bruce Zimmermann (0-0, 1.59 ERA) Game #24 // Home Game #12 2019 SEASON In Case You Missed It: The Baysox lost the final game of the series against Akron by a score of 8-6. After falling Overall Record 5-18 behind 2-0 in the second, T.J. Nichting drove in Brett Cumberland with a double to make it 2-1. Then in the third, Home Record 2-9 Bowie exploded for four runs on two-out RBIs from Ademar Rifaela, Cumberland and Nichting. The RubberDucks Road Record 3-9 went back on top with five runs between the fourth and fifth innings to make it 7-5. After Akron tacked on another Versus Eastern Division 0-0 run in the top of the seventh, Preston Palmeiro came through with an RBI double in the bottom of the inning to Versus Western Division 5-18 make it 8-6, but that was the final run Bowie would score. Current Streak L1 Current Homestand 1-3 Here Comes Zim: LHP Bruce Zimmermann makes the start today for the Baysox. This is his fourth start of the year. Last Road Trip 1-5 He has been the Bowie's most consistent starter this season, coming with a 1.59 ERA in three starts. Zimmermann was acquired by the Orioles at the 2018 Trade Deadline in a deal with the Atlanta Braves that sent Kevin Gausman Last 5 Games 1-4 and Darren O'Day to Atlanta. Zimmermann made five starts with the Baysox, going 2-3 with a 5.06 ERA in 21.1 Last 10 Games 2-8 innings. Even with the high ERA, Zimmermann only allowed one run in three of the five starts. Webb, a fourth round pick by the Giants in 2014 out of Rocklin High School in California, vs. Right-Handed Starters 3-13 is ranked as the fifth-best prospect in the San Francisco organization, according to MLB.com. Webb was a California Day Games 2-7 League Midseason All-Star in High-A San Jose last year, posting a 1.82 ERA in 74.0 innings. Webb made six starts at Night Games 3-11 the end of the year in Richmond and went 1-2 with a 3.82 ERA in 30.2 innings. In Saturday night's contest against Akron, Nichting hit his first two doubles of the year. He followed that up by going 3-5 on Sunday with two Tied After 7 Innings 2-4 more doubles and three RBI. The three runs he drove in doubled his season total. No Home Runs 1-13 No Errors Committed 3-7 The Buck Starts Here: 2019 marks Buck Britton's first season as manager of the Bowie Baysox. Britton replaces Gary Baysox vs. Richmond Kendall, who was the head man in Bowie from 2011-2018. Britton picked up his first victory as a AA manager on April 7 against the Harrisburg Senators. Last season, Britton managed the Delmarva Shorebirds, leading the club 2019 Record: 1-1 to a 68-66 record. Prior to getting into coaching, Britton played nine seasons in Minor League Baseball, and spent 4/9 at Richmond W, 8-5 parts of 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 with the Baysox.
