Tyler Herb gave Overall Record 59-51, 29-13 Bowie his best start of the season, allowing just one hit in 6.0 scoreless innings. The Baysox took an early lead in the Home Record 32-26 game on an RBI single from Anderson Feliz in the third inning, but failed to score again the rest of the night. Portland Road Record 27-25 broke through with a run in the seventh and three in the ninth to take the win. It was Bowie's third consecutive game Versus Eastern Division 21-15 giving up the go-ahead run(s) in the ninth inning or later. Versus Western Division 38-36 Current Streak L3 Baysox Starter: RHP Dean Kremer will make his 14th start of the season for the Baysox today. Kremer took a Current Homestand 2-3 no-decision in his last start against Reading, allowing two earned runs in five innings. Kremer is coming off of an outstanding month of July, where he went 4-0 with a 2.10 ERA in six starts and 34.1 innings of work. The 23-year-old has Last Road Trip 4-3 won six consecutive decisions after starting the season 1-4. Kremer has been very consistent of late for Bowie, going Last 5 Games 2-3 at least 5.0 inninghs in nine of his last ten starts, and not allowing an earned run five times during that span. Today will Last 10 Games 4-6 be Kremer's 22nd career start with the Baysox. He has posted an 11-6 record with a sub-3.00 ERA with Bowie. When Scoring 3- Runs 15-38 After Day Off 7-8 In the Other Corner: RHP Bryan Mata will take the mound for the Sea Dogs today. Mata has made six starts with In Shutouts 12-13 Portland so far this season, and is 2-3 with a 4.11 ERA. His last start was in Richmond on July 30 where he earned the In 1-Run Games 14-13 win, tossing 5.0 innings of two-run ball, striking out eight. Mata was promoted to Portland after making 10 stats with Advanced-A Salem to begin the season. Mata dominated the Carolina League, going 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA and holding In 2-Run Games 14-10 opponents to a .201 batting average against. Mata was selected to play in the Futures Game in 2018 while a member vs. Left-Handed Starters 15-16 of the Salem Red Sox and was the youngest pitcher in the game at 19-years-old. Now 20, Mata is currently the second vs. Right-Handed Starters 44-35 youngest player in the Eastern League behind Harrisburg's Luis Garcia (19). Mata was originially signed by the Red Sox Day Games 14-18 in 2016 out of Venezuela and is ranked as the #3 prospect in the Red Sox organization by MLB.com. He was even better last night, pitching 6.0 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit. Herb has the longest active scoreless streak on the Baysox pitching staff at 9.2 innings. This Day in History: On August 4, 2012, Manny Machado hit for the cycle and drove in three runs as the Baysox defeated the Trenton Thunder 8-7.
