2019 BOWIE BAYSOX GAME NOTES Tuesday, June 11, 2019 - 6:35 P.M 2019 BOWIE BAYSOX GAME NOTES Tuesday, June 11, 2019 - 6:35 p.m. Prince George's Stadium -- Bowie, MD New Hampshire Fisher Cats (28-32) @ Bowie Baysox (24-37) RHP Yennsy Diaz (4-4, 3.71 ERA) vs. RHP Dean Kremer (0-3, 6.89 ERA) Game #62 // Home Game #30 2019 SEASON In Case You Missed It: The Baysox captured the series in Portland with a 4-2 12-inning victory on Sunday. The Overall Record 24-37 game was a pitcher's duel into the sixth inning, thanks to Baysox starter Alex Wells, who allowed just one earned Home Record 11-18 run in 6.0 innings of work. Portland scored one run in that sixth to take a 1-0 lead, but Bowie tied the game in the Road Record 13-19 top of the seventh on an RBI double from Preston Palmeiro. The game remained tied 1-1 until the top of the 11th, Versus Eastern Division 6-6 when Bowie took its first lead of the game on an RBI single from Carlos Perez. Portland tied the game at 2-2 in Versus Western Division 18-31 the bottom of that inning, but the Baysox answered with two runs in the 12th inning. Engelb Vielma and Ryan Current Streak W2 McKenna each had RBIs in that inning. Tyler Erwin pitched a scoreless bottom of the 12th to earn the win. Last Homestand 1-5 Last Road Trip 4-2 Baysox Starter: RHP Dean Kremer makes the start for the Baysox today. This will be his fourth start with Bowie and sixth start overall in 2019. After two scoreless outings in High-A Frederick, Kremer has struggled a bit with the Last 5 Games 4-1 Baysox this year, but had his best outing to date in New Hampshire last week. In that outing, Kremer allowed just Last 10 Games 5-5 three earned runs in 6.0 innings while striking out five. So far for his career, Kremer has made 12 AA starts (one with When Scoring 4+ Runs 16-9 Tulsa) and is 5-5 with a 3.32 ERA. Kremer led all of Minor League Baseball in strikeouts last season with 178, and is When Scoring 3- Runs 8-28 currently ranked as the #9 prospect in the Orioles system, according to MLB.com. After Day Off 3-7 In Shutouts 4-10 In the Other Corner: RHP Yennsy Diaz makes his 11th start and 12th appearance of the year for the Fisher Cats In 1-Run Games 7-8 today. Diaz pitched against the Baysox in the series last week and was excellent, going 7.0 innings and allowing just one earned run on four hits. It was the third time this year that Diaz has pitched 7.0 innings, and his fifth outing In 2-Run Games 5-6 where he allowed one earned run or less. Prior to that start against Bowie, Diaz had allowed nine earned runs vs. Left-Handed Starters 9-11 in 10.2 innings over his previous two outings. Diaz currently ranks as the #22 prospect in the Blue Jays system, vs. Right-Handed Starters 15-26 according to MLB.com. Day Games 10-13 Night Games 14-25 Business Trip: The Baysox took care of business on their road trip up to New England. Outhit Opponent 17-6 Wells has made nine starts with Bowie, and is 3-1 with a 1.61 ERA in 50.1 innings. Lowther leads the team with five wins and his ERA sits at 2.12. The two left-handers have each already won an Eastern League Pitcher of the Week Outhit by Opponent 4-30 award, and have the lowest ERA for any two qualified teammates in the Eastern League. Pitchers Hunter Harvey (#12), Dillon Tate (#17), Zach Pop (#20), Alex Wells (#26), Catcher Brett Cumberland (#24), InfielderRylan Bannon (#23) and Infielder 2019 Record: 2-1 Mason McCoy (#30) round out the top prospects that are spenidng the 2019 campaign with the Baysox. 6/4 at New Hampshire L, 3-0 The Buck Starts Here: 2019 marks Buck Britton's first season as manager of the Bowie Baysox. Britton replaces 6/5 at New Hampshire W, 3-2 Gary Kendall, who was the head man in Bowie from 2011-2018. Britton picked up his first victory as a AA manager 6/6 at New Hampshire W, 7-5 on April 7 against the Harrisburg Senators. Last season, Britton managed the Delmarva Shorebirds, leading the 6/11 vs. New Hampshire club to a 68-66 record. Prior to getting into coaching, Britton played nine seasons in Minor League Baseball, and 6/12 vs. New Hampshire spent parts of 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 with the Baysox. Buck is the brother of former Baysox and Orioles' 6/13 vs. New Hampshire left-hander Zack Britton. This Day in Baysox History: On June 11, 2013, the Baysox went on the road and defeated Reading 7-4.
