The House That AIDS Built
The House That AIDS Built Liam Scheff This article deals with pharmaceutical abuse in a children’s home in NYC. This is a most controversial story – however, it’s entirely based in fact and good reporting. I hope you’ll find it as compelling and shocking as I did investigating it. This piece was investigated and written in summer / winter 2003 and published in January 2004. Liam Scheff. E-mail : [email protected] Introduction: In New York’s Washington Heights is a 4-story brick building called Incarnation Children’s Center (ICC). This former convent houses a revolving stable of children who’ve been removed from their own homes by the Agency for Child Services. These children are black, Hispanic and poor. Many of their mothers had a history of drug abuse and have died. Once taken into ICC, the children become subjects of drug trials sponsored by NIAID (National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Disease, a division of the NIH), NICHD (the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development) in conjunction with some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies – GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Genentech, Chiron/Biocine and others. The drugs being given to the children are toxic – they’re known to cause genetic mutation, organ failure, bone marrow death, bodily deformations, brain damage and fatal skin disorders. If the children refuse the drugs, they’re held down and have them force fed. If the children continue to resist, they’re taken to Columbia Presbyterian hospital where a surgeon puts a plastic tube through their abdominal wall into their stomachs. -

The AIDS Conspiracy: Science Fights Back by Nicoli Nattrass
Journal of Scientifi c Exploration, Vol. 26, No. 4, pp. 885–891, 2012 0892-3310/12 BOOK REVIEW The AIDS Conspiracy: Science Fights Back by Nicoli Nattrass. Columbia University Press, 2012. 225 pp. $14.99 (Kindle). $34.50 (hardcover). ISBN 978-0231149129. The offi cial position, the mainstream consensus, is that HIV causes AIDS and that anti-HIV drugs are benefi cial. Both are denied by many people: Some of them are eminently qualifi ed to critique the technicalities, others are persuaded by personal experience or that of friends of being “HIV- positive” but healthy, and others again have analyzed the cases presented pro and con by the believers and the disbelievers. To my knowledge, there exists no disinterested analysis of the opposing cases, and books and book reviews tend to be highly polarized. For the present book, fulsome praise has come from those who share Nattrass’s belief that HIV causes AIDS; the opposite comes from those who disagree with her. This reviewer disagrees with Nattrass (Bauer 2007a, 2009a), and the reader is thereby warned to be on the alert for bias in this review even as its author strives to focus on verifi able points. The book’s title refl ects accurately that the discussion concerns tactics, strategies, and psychological and sociological and political aspects of the to-and-fro between believers and disbelievers. Regarded as insightful, consequently, are such passages as Notably, Paula Treichler locates AIDS conspiracy beliefs within what she terms a broader “epidemic of signifi cation” or parallel cultural process in which people generate, reproduce, and perform meanings in an attempt “to understand—however imperfectly—the complex, puzzling and quite terrifying phenomenon of AIDS.” (p. -
Nudging Towards Vaccination: a Behavioral Law and Economics Approach to Childhood Immunization Policy*
LASKOWSKI.TOPRINTER (DO NOT DELETE) 2/1/2016 6:52 PM Nudging Towards Vaccination: A Behavioral Law and Economics Approach * to Childhood Immunization Policy I. Introduction The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation declared this decade “the Decade of Vaccines.”1 Vaccines are more effective and protect against more diseases than ever before;2 yet childhood immunization rates in the United States and many other industrialized nations are declining.3 Diseases that had been declared eradicated in the United States are increasingly reappearing.4 Most recently in early 2015, a large multistate measles outbreak was linked to an infected individual who had visited Disneyland in Southern California. A study concluded that the outbreak was likely a result of substandard vaccination rates.5 The anti-vaccination movement can be traced to a paper published by British doctor Andrew Wakefield in 1998 that claimed there might be a connection between the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine and * I would like to thank Professor Sean H. Denying AIDS Conspiracy Theories, Pseudoscience, and Human Tragedy
springer.com Seth C. Kalichman Denying AIDS Conspiracy Theories, Pseudoscience, and Human Tragedy Written by Seth C. Kalichman, editor of AIDS and Behavior, a Clinical- Community Psychologist and a Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Connecticut All royalties will support the purchase of antiretroviral medications for people living with HIV/AIDS in Africa: http://www.shallwego.net/ftf/index.htm. Paralleling the discovery of HIV and the rise of the AIDS pandemic, a flock of naysayers has dedicated itself to replacing genuine knowledge with destructive misinformation—and spreading from the fringe to the mainstream media and the think tank. Now from the editor of the journal AIDS and Behavior comes a bold exposé of the scientific and sociopolitical forces involved in this toxic evasion. Denying AIDS traces the origins of AIDS dissidents disclaimers during the earliest days of the epidemic and delves into the psychology and politics of the current denial movement in its various incarnations. Seth Kalichman focuses not on the “difficult” or doubting patient, but on organized, widespread forms of denial (including the idea that HIV itself is a myth and HIV treatments are poison) and the junk science, faulty logic, 1st Edition. 2nd Printing. 2009, XXIII, 205 conspiracy theories, and larger forces of homophobia and racism that fuel them. The malignant p. results of AIDS denial can be seen in those individuals who refuse to be tested, ignore their diagnoses, or reject the treatments that could save their lives. Instead of ignoring these Printed book currents, asserts Kalichman, science has a duty to counter them. -
Kansans for Health Freedom Program
T H I S B O O K B E L O N G S T O : I F F O U N D , C O N T A C T I N F O . WELCOME! Welcome to the Freedom Revival in the Heartland event of 2020. We are so excited to have you here! I can assure you that getting this event off in only three weeks is a testament to the power of God working in a million big and little ways. It is also a testament to the talent, passion, and inspiration of some very dedicated and hard-working people. Today, we unite with all who are awake to the rising trend of medical tyranny. We join with those who have been silenced. We grieve with those who have lost so much. Finally, we rejoice that many more are waking up to the corruption of our health agencies and the failure of the pharma-medical paradigm every day. Kansans for Health Freedom is a young organization which came together in June of 2019. Our goal is to promote and uphold our constitutional freedoms for vaccine and medical choice and true informed consent. We want to see the needless injuries and deaths from vaccines eliminated. We want to hear the unheard and be a voice for the silenced. We want to educate the public about the very real risks of vaccines so that no more will be harmed. Our wonderful team has had an amazing year with many great learning experiences. Some of you have been a part of that, and we thank you! If you are not a member of KSHF but you believe the government and its agencies should not be the determiners for your family’s health choices, please join us. -

Death by Denial: the Campaigners Who Continue to Deny HIV Causes
Death by denial: The campaigners who continue to deny HIV causes Aids As each of their followers dies, those who campaign against HIV treatments simply move on to the next level of denial Karri Stokely is a poster girl for a different way to look at health. After receiving an Aids diagnosis in 1996, at the age of 29, she was treated for 11 years with a cocktail of drugs. But then she saw an internet video saying that HIV was a hoax, stopped taking her medicines – and felt terrific. "I'm not getting any answers from the mainstream as to why I'm healthy, and why my husband is negative, and why I can quit these drugs," she explains in her own video, which is currently being promoted online. "I think it's a crime. It's crimes against humanity." Peter Duesberg in 1995. He still promotes the discredited hypothesis that HIV 'is not sufficient to cause Aids'. Photograph: Susan Ragan/Associated Press Her doctor was aghast – HIV treatment is for life. "He looked me right in the eyes and said: 'You have done a very stupid thing, and you will be dead very soon,'" Stokely recalls. "My response to him was: 'That's funny, because right now I'm feeling pretty good.'" That was in April 2007. She died four years later, so her comments are a postcard from the past. "Karri Stokely passed away on April 27th 2011," explains a website run by London journalist Joan Shenton. "She said she wouldn't go quietly so we are keeping her moving interview below on our homepage." But Stokely's path (via pneumonia) was already well trodden. -

“Of the Virus Party”: Ecofeminist Perspectives on Dissent in AIDS Science
Nebula 1.1, June 2004 “Of the Virus Party”: Ecofeminist Perspectives on Dissent in AIDS Science. By Serena Anderlini-D’Onofrio Abstract My analysis of the controversies in AIDS science demonstrates that due to the influence of the allopathic scientific collective, the course of mainstream research about the disease has been overdetermined. 1 During the disease’s early outbreaks, allopathic medicine dominated medical discourse. As a result, AIDS science focused on infectious rather than environmental and ecological causes. Later, this focus caused controversies voiced by dissenters from a more holistic perspective. I argue that persisting uncertainties in the etiology of AIDS challenge conventional understandings of this disease. In an ecofeminist perspective, these challenges can be seen as signs of an important shift in the philosophy of health. Thomas Kuhn would describe this shift as harbinger of a “scientific revolution,” resulting from a new “scientific paradigm” struggling to get center stage. 2 If, as ecofeminists claim, the Earth is an animated being and not a Cartesian res extensa , humans are particles of the larger superorganism environmentalists often call Gaia. In this perspective, AIDS is an illness of the biosphere that affects its human particles. This planetary illness denotes toxicity in Gaia’s body, including its air, soil, and waters. If so, AIDS reads as an environmental disease, not an infectious one. This hypothesis is based on a holistic philosophy of health, which is the major current challenge to allopathic philosophy. In his article, I argue that AIDS can be situated at the interstice between cause and effect in the paradigm change, where the collision of two modes of thinking produces new perspectives. -

Downloaded from https://academic.oup.com/biomedgerontology/article/57/8/B292/556758 by guest on 28 September 2021 A large number of products are currently being sold by antiaging entrepreneurs who claim that it is now possible to slow, stop, or reverse human aging. The business of what has become known as antiaging medicine has grown in recent years in the United States and abroad into a multimil- lion-dollar industry. The products being sold have no scientifically demonstrated efficacy, in some cases they may be harmful, and those selling them often misrepresent the science upon which they are based. In the position statement that follows, 52 researchers in the field of aging have collaborated to inform the public of the distinction between the pseudoscientific antiaging industry, and the genuine science of aging that has progressed rapidly in recent years.
