It is situated approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Withernsea town centre and 3 miles (4.8 km) east of the village of Patrington. It lies just inland from the North Sea coast. According to the 2001 UK census, Holmpton parish had a population of 193 which since the census will have increased to around 300. The parish church of St Nicholas is a Grade II listed building. In the last decade environmental policy has increased the support for renewable electricity. At the same time the electricity sector was often subject of antitrust investigation because of relevant market concentration, and mar­ ket power. This dissertation looks at the renewable electricity market to analyze the effect of environmental policy on competition.
