LENNY 02 2021 - Page 3 PHYSICAL CONTEXT Holmpton is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, in an area known as Holderness. It is situated approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Withernsea town centre and 3 miles (4.8 km) east of the village of Patrington. It lies just inland from the North Sea coast. According to the 2001 UK census, Holmpton parish had a population of 193 which since the census will have increased to around 300. The parish church of St Nicholas is a Grade II listed building.
