STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS Timeline and Expectations
Wed., Apr. 10th: Candidates meet with Sponsors in room 207 after school. Thurs., Apr. 11th-Fri., Apr. 12th: Candidate interviews with Student Council executive committee Your name will not appear on the ballot if you are not interviewed by the executive committee. Thurs., Apr. 11th: Candidate packets, including teacher evaluations due by 4:00 pm to Miss Browning or Mrs. Zuehlke (room 207, or 327); begin campaigning Your name will not appear on the ballot if you do not turn in your candidate packet. Thurs. Apr. 11th – Wed. Apr. 17th: Campaigning - Hang campaign posters (no larger than poster board), hand out campaign material, etc. No candy can be given out to students. Tues., Apr. 16th: Video speech due to sponsors Wed. Apr. 17th: 60 Second CANDIDATE VIDEO SPEECHES during lunch time. Thurs. Apr. 18th: Elections held during all lunches. Fri., Apr. 19th: Election results announced
EXPECTATIONS: You must state the office for which you are running on all campaign material. Posters and any other campaign materials must be approved by StuCo advisors-limit 4! No litter-creating campaign materials will be approved. (Buttons & stickers are good ideas). Campaigning may not interfere with class time. All campaign materials must adhere to the campus dress code (and all school rules). You may only promote yourself in your campaign materials. Use only your name. Positive campaigning only! Consequence for not following expectations—DISQUALIFICATION from elections.
