University of Kentucky:

Jennifer Barber Jennifer (Yue) Barber is a member of the law firm, Frost Brown Todd LLC, and practices in its Louisville office. She focuses her practice in the areas of state and local tax, tax controversy, and economic development.

Barber earned her bachelor’s degree in 2005 and her Juris Doctor in 2008, both from the University of Kentucky.

Barber has served on the Kentucky State Fair Board and on U.S. Bank’s Advisory Board since 2014. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Bar Foundation and Louisville Bar Association. She was honored by Business First as Louisville’s “Enterprising Woman to Watch” in 2015 and named to Louisville’s “Forty Under 40” in 2011.

Barber is a Frankfort, Kentucky native and now resides in Louisville with her husband, Andy, and two young daughters.

Kelly Knight Craft Kelly Craft is a native of Glasgow, Kentucky and a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

In 2007, Craft was appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Member of the U.S. Delegation to the United Nation’s 61st Session of the General Assembly. Craft advised the American Ambassador to the U.N. on a range of issues, including U.S. engagement in Africa – a hallmark of the Bush Administration’s foreign policy legacy. Craft addressed the General Assembly on the enormous investment the U.S. was making in fighting HIV and malaria on the African continent, a critical example of American generosity and values to people around the world.

Craft works in a variety of charitable endeavors and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army of Lexington, Kentucky. She and her husband, Joe Craft, in partnership with Morehead State University, support The Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics, a program for academically gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors residing in Kentucky.

She and her husband reside in Lexington, Kentucky and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Michael A. Christian Michael Christian, BS, DMD has practiced dentistry for 35 years in Ashland. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1976 and earned a doctorate from the UK College of Dentistry in 1980.

Christian received the UK Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award in 2005. He is a Henry Stites Barker UK Fellow, a Life Member of both the UK National Alumni Association and the UK College of Dentistry Alumni Association, and the Wildcat Society.

Christian has served the Greater Ashland UK Alumni Club as president, vice president, treasurer, and multiple terms on the board of directors.

During his tenure as a District 8 representative on the UK National Alumni Association Board of Directors, Mike was chairman of the Membership, Club Development, Workshop Site/Selection, Great Teacher/Scholarship, Alumni Distinguished Service Awards and Nominating for Board of Directors Committee and served on the Strategic Planning and Finance Committees. Christian has also served as a member of the University of Kentucky Advocacy Network and was active in development of the Nutter Indoor Practice Facility.

Mike has been a delegate to the Kentucky Dental Association for over 34 years. He has been the chair of the delegation for approximately 15 years. He is a past president of the Eastern Kentucky Dental Society and has served as its representative to the board of directors of the Kentucky Dental Association for 5 years.

He is married to the former Janice Warren ’78 ED ’82 LCC and they have one daughter.

Western Kentucky University:

Julie A. Harris Hinson Julie Hinson is President and CEO of Advanced Lifeline Services, Inc. headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.

A native of Owensboro, Hinson earned a B.A. in Public Relations with a minor in Business from Western Kentucky University.

Hinson is past-president of the Greater Louisville WKU Alumni Chapter and the National Alumni Association Board of Directors. Her commitments also include service as a founding member of the WKU Sisterhood, leadership on the WKU Foundation Board and an advisor to the College of Health and Human Services Advisory Council. In 2015, Hinson was named WKU Alumnae of the Year. She was also inducted into the WKU College of Health and Human Services Hall of Fame in April 2016. Hinson is a member of the 2016-2017 Presidential Search Committee.

Hinson and her husband, Mike, live in Prospect, Kentucky.

Jason L. McKinney Jason McKinney is a partner and CPA in the McKinney Woosley, LLP CPA firm in Scottsville.

A Bowling Green native, he is a 2001 graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

McKinney serves as treasurer for both Lifeskills, Inc., and The Core, and as a member of the board of directors for The Heart of Scottsville. McKinney comes from a long line of WKU alumni, spanning three generations and holding 13 degrees among them.

He currently resides in Scottsville with his wife Rebekah, an associate at Kerrick Bachert, PSC in Bowling Green, and their one year old son.

Eastern Kentucky University:

Lewis Diaz Lewis Diaz is a partner at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP and a graduate of Chase College of Law. His practice is focused on public finance.

Lewis previously served the Commonwealth as general counsel to the Kentucky Housing Corporation and worked closely with the Scholar House initiative. At Dinsmore, Lewis served as counsel in connection with the establishment of a Scholar House facility in Covington, Newport and Pikeville. Lewis is active in his community and serves on the Board of Northern Kentucky Area Development District and the Northern KY Community Action Commission. Lewis attended Eastern Kentucky University and received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. At EKU, Lewis served on the Student Senate and participated in intercollegiate athletics.

Diaz is the father of four children and the husband of Becky (Galati) Diaz and resides in Boone County, Kentucky.

Ramakrishna “Vasu” Vasudevan MBA, PMP, CKP Vasu Vasudevan has 25 years of experience in information technology, consulting and project management for both the private and public sectors.

In addition to his Certified Kentucky Paralegal (CKP) credential and Project Management Professional (PMP) credential, Vasudevan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and an MBA from Eastern Kentucky University.

Vasudevan has served in numerous volunteer positions, including currently serving as a Board of Director for the Eastern Kentucky University International Alumni Board and also as Vice-Chair for the Alumni Programming and Student Success Executive Committee at EKU. Vasudevan is also concurrently serving as a Board of Director in the PMI Bluegrass Chapter as Vice President of Strategic Planning.

Mr. Vasudevan lives in Frankfort, Kentucky with his wife and two young daughters.

Kentucky State University:

Paul C. Harnice Paul Harnice is a lifelong resident of Frankfort, Kentucky. Harnice is currently a member of the law firm of Stoll Keenon Ogden, PLLC and practices in its Frankfort office. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, American Bar Association and Franklin County Bar Association.

He graduated from Franklin County High School in 1983, and Wake Forest University in 1987, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1992, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board. Harnice previously served on the Board of Directors of the Frankfort YMCA.

Dalton Jantzen Dalton Jantzen is a retired Professor of Information Technology at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and is currently employed with S.A.I.C. in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Jantzen is a 2013 graduate of Kentucky State University majoring in Computer Science. While there, he worked with the faculty on several grant projects, student’s thesis projects and taught adjunct for the University. He is also a graduate of Western Kentucky University.

Jantzen and his wife, Carolyn, live in Payneville and run their small farm in rural Kentucky. They have two children, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Morehead State University: Terri S. Walters Terri Walters is a senior partner at Jones, Walters, Turner & Shelton PLLC, a regional law firm with offices in Pikeville and Lexington, Kentucky.

Walters is a graduate of Transylvania University and the University Of Kentucky College of Law. She has served as the 7th Supreme Court District Representative to the Kentucky Bar Foundation and as a Kentucky Supreme Court appointee to the Disciplinary Trial Commission for the Kentucky Bar Association.

Walters was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in West Liberty, Kentucky. She and her husband reside in Pikeville, Kentucky.

Patrick E. Price Patrick Price is the Assistant Fleming County Attorney and has practiced law with the office of Suit, Price, Price & Ruark in Flemingsburg, Kentucky for the past 42 years. Previously, Price was a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves for 10 years and a teacher at a Flemingsburg Elementary School.

Price was the first member of his family to graduate from college, and received his undergraduate degree from Morehead State University. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

He is a present member of the Fleming County Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Rotary Club and B-TADD Area Development Foundation (past chairman). He is a past board member of Fleming County little League, Jaycees and Chamber of Commerce.

He has been a member of the Board of Regents at Morehead State University for six years, serving as vice-chairman, chairman of audit committee, and member of executive committee.

Price resides in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.

Craig S. Preece Craig Preece is a licensed agent in property, casualty, life and health insurance. In 1989, Preece partnered with James Booth and Ted McGinnis to open The Elite Agency where they wrote workers compensation policies for a mining group before expanding to write commercial coverage, auto, homeowners, and life and health policies. The agency has seven locations across Central and Eastern Kentucky and currently writes $35 Million in personal and commercial premium annually. Preece has also been involved in various retail including Realty One USA, Car City, LLC and Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Preece is a graduate of Morehead State University.

Preece serves on the Board of the Roy F. Collier Community Center. He is a past Board of Director and Treasurer of Big Sandy Area Development, former Chairman of District 1 Board of Education in Martin County, Chairman to the Nominating Committee for Big Sandy Technical College of the KCTCS College System in Kentucky and was appointed in 2014 to the Morehead State University Board of Regents.

Preece resides in Inez, Kentucky with his wife April. They have three children and one grandchild.

Murray State University: Dr. Walter G. Bumphus Dr. Walter G. Bumphus is the President and CEO of the American Association of Community Colleges. Dr. Bumphus has spent his career forwarding the mission of community colleges as a CEO for the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, Baton Rouge Community College and Brookhaven College in Texas.

A Kentucky native, Dr. Bumphus served as a professor in the Community College Leadership Program and as chair of the Department of Educational Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT Austin, he also held the A. M. Aikin Regents Endowed Chair in Junior and Community College Education Leadership.

Dr. Bumphus earned a Bachelor's degree in speech communications and a Master's degree in guidance and counseling from Murray State University. In 2016, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from his alma mater. Dr. Bumphus earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the Community College Leadership Program at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Bumphus holds the distinction of being one of the few leaders in the field of education to hold the key to the city of Princeton, Kentucky. Dr. Bumphus has also received the ACCT Marie Y. Martin CEO of the Year Award, the AACC Leadership Award, the Diverse Champion Award and serves on several national commissions.

Dr. Bumphus’ wife, Dr. Aileen Thompson Bumphus reside in Austin, Texas.

Lisa Rudolph Lisa Rudolph is co-owner of Rudolph's, Inc., a wholesale tire distributor and Rudolph Freight, Inc. a nationwide trucking company, both located in Murray, Kentucky.

Rudolph holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing Education, both from Murray State University. She and her husband, Robbie, are co-founders of the Four Rivers Foundation. This foundation is a scholarship program benefiting four school districts, including Fulton Independent, Fulton County, Hickman County, and Carlisle County, as well as the Fulton County Area Technology Center.

Rudolph has served two terms as a Trustee of the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. She has two children, Mallory Howard and Grant Rudolph, and three grandchildren, all residing in Murray.

Northern Kentucky University:

Gregory S. Shumate Gregory Schumate practices corporate law, business succession planning, commercial law and administrative law at Frost Brown Todd. He represents a wide variety of businesses, including many family owned companies, counseling them on various corporate-related matters such as contracts, covenants not to compete, government incentives, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and succession planning.

Schumate earned his Bachelor of Arts and from the University of Kentucky and his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He is a member of both the Kentucky and Ohio Bar Associations. He was named among The Best Lawyers in America®, 2013-2016. Schumate resides in Florence, Kentucky.

Norm Desmarais Norm Desmarais serves as Chairman of TiER1 Performance and CEO of Xcelerated Learning Dynamics. TiER1 Performance has been recognized for nine straight years on Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing private companies in the United States, and received the US Chamber of Commerce Blue Ribbon Award in 2007 and 2008. Additionally, Desmarais was named the 2007 SBA Kentucky Small Business Person of the Year.

Desmarais holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Fitchburg State College and a MBA from Western New England College.

Since 1989, Desmarais has founded several high-tech companies that serve Fortune 500s, the Department of Defense, and healthcare industries among others. Prior to starting companies, Desmarais worked as a software engineer in the aerospace industry for General Electric and Raytheon.

He currently serves on the Kentucky Commission on Small Business Advocacy and Gateway Community and Technical College Foundation Board. Previously he served on KCTCS IT Advisory board and the Northern Kentucky EZone board.

Kentucky Community and Technical College:

Lisa Desmarais Lisa Desmarais is the Director of Finance & Operations for the city of City of Covington, Kentucky. Previously, Desmarais worked for 12 years in the nonprofit sector as an Executive Director and as Director of Facilities and Technology at a K-12 school. She additionally spent 16 years working in the for-profit sector at companies such as Ernst & Young and Fidelity Investments.

Desmarais holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Northern Kentucky University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Rhode Island College.

She has volunteered her time serving on nonprofit boards and committees, as well as at events in her community. She currently serves as a Board Member of Covington Partners, an educational support organization that serves the Covington Independent Public Schools. In March of 2016, Lisa and her husband, Normand Desmarais, received the Behringer-Crawford Museum Two-headed Calf Award. This award honors Northern Kentuckians for significant accomplishments in history preservation, education and community service.
