PROGRAM NARRATIVE 1) Patrol and Detective Divisions of the Brunswick Police Department are currently in need of
23 body cameras. These devices will allow officers to be able to document activity out in the
field to effectively provide proof when submitting evidence for prosecution. Additionally,
the body cameras will allow officers to be able to document their actions during an arrest,
interactions with the community, a traffic stop, or in the event of responding to a shooting or
a crime. The body cameras will also allow the option to collect photos of gang graffiti. The
following are budget items are detailed in Attachments 2a and 2b.
a. Twenty three body cameras to be assigned to the Patrol and Detective Divisions
2) The Patrol and Detective Divisions are currently in need of three data transfer charger
docking stations to be used in conjunction with the 23 body cameras being requested above.
The stations will allow officers to download the information from the device to a PC and
then save this information for further analysis if necessary. The stations also serve as
charging stations. The following are budget items are detailed in Attachments 2a and 2b.
a. Three Data Transfer Charger Docking stations
3) The Patrol Division is currently in need of seven Laser Labs Windows Tint Meters to be
used out in the field. These devices will allow officers the ability to measure the legality of
an automotive window tint. This is of particular interest to the Brunswick Police Department
since criminal activity is at times concealed under the curtain of tinted windows. The
following are budget items are detailed in Attachments 2a and 2b.

4) The Patrol Division is currently in need five mobile thermal printers to be installed in five
traffic vehicles. The printers will be connected to the existing lap tops carried in patrol cars
and will allow officers to print citations and replace the hand written citations. Printed

a. Five Brother Pocketjet 6 Plus Mobile Thermal Printers
5) The Patrol Division is currently in need of five Alco-sensors to be used out in the field. The
Brunswick Police Department is in need of more alco-sensors since not all traffic officers
have one. Due to the shortage of these devices within the Brunswick Police Department in
the event a traffic officer needs one during a traffic stop (is the suspicion that the individual
is driving under the influence of alcohol) the officer has to radio out to borrow another
officer’s alcohol sensors. The delay in testing the individual and waiting for the alcohol
sensor to get to get to the officer puts the officer at risk since. Having the ability to promptly
test for alcohol someone who may have been driving under the influence effectively reduce
the likelihood of any harm to the officer and to other drivers. The following are budget items
are detailed in Attachments 2a and 2b.
a. Five Intoximeters Alcohol Sensors
b. Eight Boxes of the disposable mouth pieces needed to use the Alcohol sensors.
6) The Patrol Division for the Brunswick Police Department is currently in need of five
magnetic card and code readers. This technology will allow officers the capability to read
any government issued ID card with a magnetic strip and determine if it is a valid or
fraudulent card. The following are budget items are detailed in Attachments 2a and 2b.
a. Five Magnetic Card and Bar Code readers Model 260, incorporates a magnetic strip
readers with an advanced technology incorporating a 2D barcode as well.
