UNITY IN NAPA VALLEY WEEKLY “MESSAGE” RECORDING PROCEDURE

Set-up of OLYMPUS WS-600S before Sunday Service begins:

- Plug microphone or the audio cable connected to microphone/alligator clip combo into 3.5 mm jack labeled “MIC” on top edge of digital voice recorder (See Speaker Notes below). - Slide and release “HOLD/POWER” switch on left edge of device toward bottom/base of recorder to activate unit. - Select the next empty Folder to record audio input using “+” or “-“ buttons on the recorder’s center combination control panel. 1st Sunday recorded in Folder A, 2nd Sunday in Folder B, etc. - Slide and hold “HOLD/POWER” switch for 0.5 seconds or longer toward bottom of recorder to turn unit off. - Selected folder remains the default folder for message recording. - Leave recorder equipment on podium.

When ready to START RECORDING near the end of the Song before the Message portion of Sunday program:

- Slide and release “HOLD/POWER” switch toward bottom/base of recorder to reactivate unit. - Speaker Notes o Juanita Hoover, Richard Southern and Susanne von Rosenberg walk about the Sanctuary while presenting a Message. . Clip microphone to Speaker’s clothing using alligator clip; . After activating record feature, place recorder in a suitable clothing pocket to facilitate speaker’s style of Message presentation. o Rev. Robert Norton and Sally Harper stand at the podium while presenting a Message, so the recorder should remain at the upper end of the podium above the Message text pages. - Press red “REC” button – screen display changes to show recording data and elapsed time information. [Note: Pressing “REC” button again PAUSES recording (toggle)!]

When ready to STOP RECORDING: - Retrieve recorder and press silver “STOP” button. - Slide and hold “HOLD/POWER” switch for 0.5 seconds or longer toward bottom of recorder to turn unit off. - Speaker usually removes microphone from clothing while you complete the above steps.
