Terms 1. Low Literate Adult = individuals with a reading level below 9th grade 2. GED Student = individual with a reading level of 9.0 or higher 3. Instrument = any standardized test; i.e., SORT, BEST, TABE 4. One Grade Level Improvement = the attainment of one level using a standard test.

Output: 1,400 low level adults and out-of-school teens will participate in one-to-one, small group, or classroom instruction.

Outcome: 60% of students receiving one-to-one, small group or classroom instruction will improve their reading, writing and/or math skills by one grade level. (Target: 40 hours of instruction)
