Charsfield Parish Code: E04009386 Area Summary Charsfield is a village and civil parish that sits 3 miles west of Wickham Market in the district of Suffolk Coastal. The village has a good number of community assets that provide opportunities for the local community. The recreational field contains a play park, football pitch, tennis courts and even more besides The village also retains a primary school for around fifty pupils. Charsfield has several community buildings with a sizeable village hall and two active churches; the parish church and a local Baptist chapel. The locals are served by a local pub that is at the centre of the village, while a small garage and convenience store can be found on the parish’s eastern edge. In 1974 Charsfield made a name for itself as both the location for the film ‘Akenfield’, and the host to the inaugural Greenbelt Festival which is still running to this day.
