GENERAL MEETING OF THE MGWA

May 11, 2017

Captain Nanci Smith opened the meeting at 2:40 pm.

Minutes: Karen Biscaha moved and Betty Rader 2nd that the minutes of February be approved. Motion carried.

Co-Captain; Carrie Cochran asked the membership to sign up early and no later than Tuesday. If necessary, contact her if you want to play.

Treasurer: Debra Jones-Brown reported that the bank account has been reconciled with the help of Betty Rader. The cost of the bench is $737. The IRS has been completed.

Tournament: Suzanne Fletcher reported that points will be given out at the end of June. Since there has been little play, the points will be about $1.50. Course Affairs, no report.

Handicap: Linda Blackburn asked the members to email her if they have a problem posting on the computer.

PWGA; Betty Rader reported that Mather had a good showing at the SR. Super Sr. tournament. Since the playdays are filling up early, get your check in if you want to play. Webmaster: no report.

Chipins&fifty-fifty: Cynthia Jennings asked the members who want to be included, to please make sure your name and money correspond.

Invitational: Nanci Smith said the fee is $85 and to get the entries in soon. Checks will not be cashed until July 1st. Only 36 teams will be fielded. Information on the website. Entries will close by June 30th.

OLD BUSINESS; Treasurer: Debra Jones-Brown will be receiving the Memorial Bench and with her husband's help, put it together.

Plaque: Sue Shanaberger is complying a list of former deceased members. She is asking members to help with dates of deceased.

New Business: The PWGA has recomended a local rule: "IF A BALL, ON THE PUTTING SURFACE, IS ACCIDENTLY MOVED BY THE PLAYER , IT MUST BE REPLACED. NO PENALTY. IF THE BALL IS MOVED BY AN OUTSIDE CAUSE (LIKE THE WIND) IT WILL BE PLAYED FROM THAT LIE."It was moved by Karen Biscaha to pass this local rule and 2nd by Sharron Anderson. Motion carried. Changes to the Match Play Rules: in the future when you sign up, you must commit to all 3 days. Especially on the last day.
