We are looking forward to hosting the Region III Hockey Tournament this year. Please review the following information and the by-laws as well. Once seeding is complete, we will send out a completed bracket.

Venue

The 2017 North Star Hockey Championship will be hosted at the MTA Events Center in Palmer.

Rosters

As per Region III by-laws, please send a preliminary roster not to exceed 24 players to Dale Ewart, [email protected] by Friday, January 27th. A final team roster of 20 players must be selected from this list and submitted to the tournament director no later than three hours prior to the first contest of the tournament, by 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 4th. Thereafter, no changes or substitutions shall be permitted.

Please send a team photo to Dale Ewart, [email protected] for our program by Friday, January 27th as well.

Record

Each school must submit via e-mail to Dale Ewart, [email protected] results of their season. The seeding of the tournament will follow Region III by-laws. To seed the tournament, the tournament director needs the score of each Conference game and games against any other 4A level opponents. Please use the Season Record Sheet, as this is the first seeding criteria.

Teams will be seeded according to the following criteria: 1. Region record.

2. Head to head competition in Region play

3. Head to head competition outside Region play

4. Common opponent at 4A level.

5. Fewest goals scored against during regular Region contests.

6. Toss of a coin.

All Conference Nominations

Each school will submit the names of players to be considered for an All-Conference 4A team. As per Region III by-laws the number of nominations for this team is determined by your seeding in the tournament. Please e-mail Dale Ewart, [email protected] the nomination form by Monday, January 30th, 2017. Please send these names by e-mail on the provided, “All Conference Nomination Form.” Each team will also submit one player’s name as their, “Good Sport Team,” representative. There is also a ballot for a “Coach of the Year” nomination.

Thursday, February 2 12:00 PM – Coaches Meeting 2:00 PM – Game #1 4:45 PM – Game #2 7:15 PM – Region Awards Dinner (All Teams) @ Palmer Train Depot. Dinner provided for all participants and coaches.

Friday, February 3 10:00 AM – Skills Competition 5:00 PM – Game #3 7:30 PM – Game #4

Saturday, February 4 4:15 PM – Game #5 – Championship Game

Warm up Warm up will always be on dirty ice, 30 minutes before scheduled game time.
