Lectured to Wellness Center members on various medical topics. Worked with local media health reporters developing medical programs for TV, radio and newspapers.
Vice President, Health and Wellness (September 2010-present) Responsibilities include: Development of a comprehensive health and wellness strategy for 10,000+ employees and dependents. Programs including chronic disease management for diabetes, obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and osteoarthritis; nutrition programs including the CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Program); cancer screening programs for colon, breast and prostate cancer; and, weight management clinic for employees with over 500 patients.
Community involvement includes the Horizon Council (300+ community business leaders interested in developing wellness programs in their organizations; “Healthy Lee” programs to improve nutrition within Lee County, Florida and the “Healthy Me” program to deal with the epidemic of childhood obesity in Lee County, FL.
Media work includes regular segments on FOX4 TV, two weekly columns in The News- Press, writing health and wellness articles and a wellness tip for the week, and a bi- monthly article in Fit Nation magazine.
Additional professional work includes presenting at the annual Plantrician Conference in Anaheim, California, September 2015.
Anticipated additional professional responsibilities with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine since having been nominated for a board position.
