2008 ENERGY STAR® Leadership in Housing Award Application

Each year, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy (DOE) honor organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency. Manufacturing plants that produced and labeled ENERGY STAR qualified manufactured homes during the 2007 calendar year are encouraged to apply for this 2008 ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award. To be considered, a plant must meet the specific eligibility requirements in the award application and submit a complete application by January 15, 2008. Winners will be recognized at the National Congress & Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing on April 23, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV. Press releases announcing the award winners will be distributed to major industry publications and directly to manufacturing plants. In addition, award winners will be promoted via ENERGY STAR program communication channels and on the Web.

Eligibility Manufacturing plants that are ENERGY STAR Partners, are certified to produce ENERGY STAR qualified manufactured homes and that meet either of the minimum threshold criteria listed in the table below are eligible. Award selection will be based on the number of ENERGY STAR qualified manufactured homes labeled by the plant during the 2007 calendar year. Information provided by the plant will be verified using data provided to EPA by EPA-approved Quality Assurance Providers. To distinguish levels of commitment, three levels of awards are available. Manufacturers qualify for the highest possible award by meeting total home or percentage of production thresholds as listed in the table below.

Save a copy of the completed application in Word or PDF format. 2. E-mail one electronic copy of your completed application to Brian Ng at [email protected] no later than January 15, 2008, 3:00 pm Eastern. EPA will not accept any applications date marked after this date. No hard copies or faxed applications will be accepted. 3. Provide electronic copies of both color and black-and-white versions of your organization’s logo in EPS format that will allow for a printable resolution of 300 dpi at a size of four (4) inches. In the event that your organization is chosen for an award, this logo may be used in awards materials.

EPA will confirm receipt to the e-mail address from which the application was sent. If you do not receive confirmation within two weeks of sending your application, please contact Brian Ng at (202) 343-9162 or [email protected]. EPA will not be able to return any materials submitted as part of the award application.
