Dear Welby New Technology community partner,

We are writing you to request your assistance with an important part of Welby New Technology High School’s rigorous 21st Century skill-based educational program. In May, our 10th and 12th grade students will participate in a formal process of “Digital Portfolio Exhibitions,” a required presentation of our students’ 21st Century Learning Outcomes in a digital portfolio demonstration to a panel of educators, family, and other community members.

We would like to invite you to become a partner in our inaugural DIGITAL PORTFOLIO EXHIBITIONS 2007-2008; come support us and take part in the educational success of youth in the Denver area. This is a moving and powerful experience for both students and panelists alike. We have three dates this year we would like to extend to you. You are welcome to volunteer for all three dates and experience the scope of Digital Portfolio presentations, or feel free to chose one date that works for you.

We appreciate your contribution to our students’ futures and hope you will be able to join us.

Teachers and administrators will meet in April to read and review senior portfolios and make revision recommendations. Students will then have a 2-week period in which to revise and prepare themselves for Presentation Day with you.

 Wednesday, May 7…seeking 10-12 community partners to review Senior/12th grade student portfolios in relation to Colorado State Standards and the requirements of 21st Century Skills. In so doing, the guest’s primary task will be recommending any revisions necessary to bring the work up to a level that will support graduation. A staff member familiar with the Portfolio process will be a member of your team.
