Special Tournament only Rules Officials: There will be WIAA certified officials on every court !!
Game Rules: All WIAA national federation rules are in effect unless otherwise addressed as special rules.
Game Ball: The 28.5 inch “girls” basketball will be used for games.
Game timing: Each game will consist of two 16 minute running clock halves. The clock will stop only for timeouts. The clock will run as normal during the last 2 minutes of each half. Running clock will remain in effect for the entire game when a team is leading by 20 or more points. When needed, overtime will be 2 minutes long and the clock will be run normally. Double over-time will result in a sudden death free throw contest.
Timeouts: Each team will have 2 timeouts per half (one 30 sec and one full) No time outs will be carried over to the next half or any overtime. Each team will be given 1 full time out in overtime.
Press: No Presses allowed.
Defense: Man to man defense only.
Other fouls: 2 points will be awarded to the opposing team for each and every intentional foul or technical foul. (No free throws need to be taken) A second technical on a coach or player will result in ejection for that coach or player for the remainder of the tournament. (Administrative technicals are not included toward ejection)
Half time: Half time will be 3 minutes in length. Non playing teams are asked not be on the court at this time.
Protest : The referee’s call will stand and will not be reviewed in cases of judgment. A coach may request the Tournament Director to review the application or interpretation of any rule. The game will be stopped until the interpretation of the rule is resolved.
Tie Breaker: Tie Breaker is determined by 1) record, 2) head to head, 3) average of point differential in 1st half of games played, 4) coin flip.
Fan Misconduct: Referees and tournament management have the right to remove any parent or fan from the gym for unsportsmanlike like conduct. Reasons for removal may include unacceptable behavior directed at officials, coaches or players. The game will be stopped until the parent / fan leaves the gym. Forfeit of the game may result if the parent / fan refuses to leave.
Food and Drink: We ask that only water (water bottles) be consumed at the bench. No food in the gym please. Directions and other information
The Shiocton Schools is just off High Way 54 on Broad Street in Shiocton. Please enter and leave the building only through the School District main entrance. The Elementary School entrance will be open. The Elementary School gym and High School gym are connected by a hallway that connects the two buildings. The hallway doors will be open at all times.
Admission will be charged to all fans, $3.00 per adult, $1.00 per child. Children 5 and under will be free. Two coaches from each team and players will be free.
A variety of concessions will be available for purchase. Please support our program’s concessions. No carry-ins please.
Each team is responsible for bringing its own warm up balls.
Warm up time before a game will be limited to equal the start time for the game. 3 minutes will be given to warm up between games when games are running behind schedule.
Teams arrive 20 minutes early in case we are ahead of schedule.
No refunds will be given unless a replacement team is found.
