A. All Athletes will: 1. Purchase a Klein Forest Athletic Practice Uniform for 20.00 ($10 for shirt & $10 for shorts). If the athlete already owns the uniform, they do not have to purchase another one. You may buy as many shirts or shorts as you like. The shorts are not mandatory, as long as you wear black shorts or tights. 2. Pay a mandatory District wide Athletic fee of $10.00 for lock rental, soap, and laundry service. 3. Be issued an individual locker. Lockers are not to be shared. 4. The fees can be paid online at the school cash store online. B. All athletes will dress out everyday, even if the student is unable to participate in the class activity. 1. Proper dress consists of the appropriate practice uniform - athletic/workout clothes and tennis shoes. 2. Rental uniforms are available for $1.00 $.50 top, $.50 for shorts) 3. Failure to dress out in appropriate practice uniform (athletic/workout clothes) will result in a grade deduction for that day. The grade deduction will be: 3.a) The 1st non-suit will be a 50-point deduction for not wearing appropriate athletic/workout suit. 3.b) The 2nd non-suit is a warning to student and a 50-point deduction for not wearing athletic suit. 3.c) The 3rd non-suit in a 6-week period will result in parental contact and discipline referral, as well as the 50 point grade deduction. 4. Attire that is detrimental to the athlete’s safety will not be worn. (i.e.: hoop earrings, necklaces, rings, flip flops, or sandals) 5. Students will not be allowed to participate unless they are fully dressed out in appropriate athletic/workout clothes. Wearing inappropriate clothing will result in a non-suit being issued. 6. Students are allowed to bring sweats and jackets during cold weather. C. Make-up work: 1. Athletes must make up any missed workout during season. The make up consists of running 2 miles under 20 minutes. If the athlete is unable to make the 2 mile time, they will run it the next day or however many days it takes to make the time before they will be able to compete in a meet. D. Excuses from Participation: 1. It is the Klein ISD policy that any student not able to participate in Athletic activities must present a written excuse from his/her parent or guardian. This note is good for only three (3) days. After three days, a doctor’s excuse is required. All notes need to be dated. Please include your name, your child’s first and last name, and the reason for the excuse. 2. Students unable to participate in any activity for an extended period of time may have their schedule changed so that they can complete their athletic requirement at such a time that they are able to fully participate. 3. Students excused from participation must continue to dress out in order to receive credit. 4. If athlete is injured or hurting, we require them to see the KF Athletic trainer. It is the athlete’s responsibility to communicate with the coach that they are hurting and the coach will then send the athlete with a note to the trainer. The trainer will communicate with the coach and/or the parent on what the next step will be to improve the athlete’s condition. E. Grading: Students will begin each day with a grade of 100. Points will be deducted for the following: 1. Practice uniform shirt/shorts/shoes: 50 pts. 2. Participation 50 pts. **********Parents will be able to view their athlete’s grades online via Skyward. ************** F. Tardies: 1. Students must be in dressing room when the tardy bell rings. 2. Students must report to the track/weight room 5 minutes after the tardy bell rings. G. Students will be responsible for securing their own valuables during the Athletic Period in their individual lockers. Coaches are not responsible for lost or STOLEN items.
