Title Lived Experience Advisors for UKCRIS (digital research database) Nottingham
Brief description UKCRIS - Service users Documentation Review and redesign leading on to an advisory panel for research in mental health and intellectual delay and disability fields.
Main description As part of our commitment to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients and service users, it is important to involve them in the development of the right information, presented in the most effective manner to inform people who might be thinking about becoming involved in research. We want you to share your knowledge and/or experience in reviewing, adapting and designing information for potential research projects and recruits. We need to undertake this work quickly and would need to complete it by the end of September 2016. We are establishing a group of people to work with a range of medical professionals who will be reviewing and redesigning documentation to go out to potential research recruits telling them about the research projects, what will be expected of them as part of the project they are interested in, and how they might sign up to become involved. This work is expected to be completed in the early autumn of this year. Are you able to attend a workshop and a regular meeting once a week for approximately 4 weeks to help us finish this work? If you are not able to commit to this work but are interested in getting involved on a longer term basis we are hoping to set up an advisory panel. Some or all of the reviewing team could become involved in our advisory panel looking at research projects coming into the Trust and advising the Trust on whether they should sponsor the project or not. Maybe you would like to work on this. This group will be made up of medical professionals, academics and people who have lived experience and knowledge. All of whom will bring a different and important perspective to the work. This will involve 4 to 8 meetings a year, for which support and guidance would be provided
