Part I: By ‐ Laws ARTICLE I: NAME OF ORGANIZATION A. The name of this organization is: Shenandoah Valley Darts Association (SVDA) ARTICLE II: LEAGUE OBJECTIVES

A. SVDA is a non‐profit, non‐political, and non-sectarian organization. B. SVDA will promote fair play in the sport of English darts in the Shenandoah Valley. C. To sanction league play according to the Rules for Match Play. D. To improve and establish conditions of play in local establishments. E. To grow the SVDA when appropriate. ARTICLE III: THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS A. Executive Committee consisting of the following elected officials will manage the SVDA: President, Vice‐President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Rules Director. The Statistician shall be appointed by the President and is a non-voting member of the Executive Committee. It is not permissible for anyone to serve concurrently in more than one elected position. Those seeking election to the Executive Committee must be nominated and voted in by a simple majority of the League Members (defined below). B. Board of Directors shall be comprised of the Executive Committee and one representative from all current teams.

C. SVDA President, Vice‐President, Secretary, Rules Director, and Treasurer will be elected during the Spring League Season for a 1 year term to begin July 1, and end June 30 each year. D. League Member is a member in good standing that has paid their dues for the current season. E. Candidates for President must have served at least one season as an SVDA Executive Committee member, or an equivalent position in another dart league. F. Responsibilities of Executive Committee: 1. League President: The League President shall be the CEO of the Association and shall be responsible for: a. Presiding over all meetings of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and general membership.

b. Appointing any ad‐hoc committees deemed necessary and serving as an ex‐officio member of such committees. c. Promoting positive public relations for the Association and its functions in conjunction with the Vice President. d. Coordinating the recognition of and awards for Association teams/players in conjunction with the Statistician. e. Overseeing the Association bank account in conjunction with the Treasurer. 2. Vice President: The Vice President shall be responsible for: a. Keeping minutes at all Association meetings in the absence of the Secretary. b. Reviewing and approving all meeting minutes prior to posting to the SVDA Web site. c. Assisting the President with general public relations and other duties as needed. d. Assisting other league officers as needed. e. Assuming the duties of the President in the event that the President is unavailable. 3. Secretary: The Secretary shall be responsible for: a. Maintaining and keeping a current list of Association members in conjunction with the Treasurer. b. Keeping minutes at all Association meetings, and posting these minutes on the SVDA Web site within one week of the meeting. c. Keeping the Bylaws and Rules updated as changes are voted on and approved. Posting the latest version to the SVDA Web site. d. Receiving, reviewing and getting approval for all meeting minutes from special committees and posting to the SVDA Web site. 4. Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be responsible for: a. Receiving all of the money paid to the Association and maintaining the Association bank account in conjunction with the President. b. Keeping complete and accurate records of monies received and expenditures made by the Association and providing a current report of the Association account(s) when requested by the Executive Committee, and at the annual Association meeting. c. Maintaining and keeping a current list of Association members in conjunction with the Secretary. d. Contacting and coordinating with Team Captains for the receipt of monies for alternate players and players added to their team, inform the Rules Director of teams in violation of fees remittance. 5. Statistician: The Statistician shall be responsible for: a. Receiving weekly score sheets, calculating team and/or personal standings in accordance with current league guidelines, and updating league statistics. b. Update Statistics by the following Monday after league play. c. Notify the Rules Director of score sheets that are late. 6. The Rules Director: The Rules Director shall be responsible for: a. Maintaining the rules of the SVDA and enforcing. Notifying the Executive Committee of violations and providing recommendations for addressing rule violations. b. Receiving submitted protests, and when applicable, presenting them to the Executive Committee for a ruling. c. Pre-season inspection and approval of playing conditions at all venues where league competition will take place, no later than 1 week prior to the start of the season. d. Inspecting playing conditions at all Venues and making recommendations for corrections as necessary when a complaint is file for a venue. e. Serving as liaison between Association members and the Executive Committee on matters involving the rules of the SVDA. f. Preside over the Rules Committee. This committee will assist the Rules Director on inspecting Venues prior to the start of the season, and follow up on complaints throughout the season. Assist in the investigation on rules violations, and provide the Rules Director recommendations to present to the Executive Committee. Also they will make recommendations to rule changes to be presented to the Executive Board for consideration. G. Responsibilities of Board of Directors: 1. The Board of Directors will meet once prior to the start of each season. The purpose of the meeting will be: a. The Executive Committee will inform the Captains of any changes to the By‐Laws. b. The Board may discuss and vote on any changes to the Rules of Match Play.

c. The Board may veto any changes to the By‐Laws with a 2/3 majority. ARTICLE IV: CHANGES AND REVISIONS

A. By ‐ Laws: Changes to the By‐Laws must be passed by the Executive Committee with 2/3 majority. All changes will go into effect the following season except in circumstances deemed "emergency" or "extraordinary" by the President. In such cases, a 2/3 majority vote by the Executive Committee will be required. B. Rules for Match Play: Rules for Match Play changes must be passed by the Board of Directors with a simple majority. All changes will go into effect the following season except in circumstances deemed "emergency" or "extraordinary" by the President. In such cases, a simple majority vote by the Board of Directors will be required. ARTICLE V: CAPTAIN'S RESPONSIBILITIES A. This is a general list of the Captain’s responsibilities. Although some duties may be delegated to some other team member, the Captain is ultimately responsible to their team and to the League to carry out these duties or to designate someone to carry them out in their absence. 1. Be aware of and adhere to Rules for Match Play. 2. Register the team and deliver all dues to the SVDA Treasurer by the end of the preseason Luck of the Draw. 3. Collect names, addresses, e-mail and phone numbers of each team member and provide this information to the Secretary or Treasurer. 4. Ensure a team representative is in attendance at the Board of Directors meetings. 5. List participating team members on the score sheets for each match and determine throwing order. 6. Record match results accurately and legibly. 7. Sign score sheet. 8. If home team Captain submits signed score sheet to Statistician no later than noon the Friday after the match is completed. a. Failure to submit score sheet in time will result in the loss of 2 Team Points for the home team on the first offense, 5 Team Points for the second offense, and all Team Points up to that point for any additional offenses. 9. Captains are responsible for the conduct of their team members. 10. Responsible for submitting all dues for subs or additional players ARTICLE VI: MEMBERSHIP A. Membership is open to any individual, age 16+, who evidences interest in Darts as a sport, with the following exceptions. Membership may be denied to any person who: 1. Has been banned from Association play for unsportsmanlike conduct during a previous season. B. Team Captains: 1. Each team shall have one member who shall serve as Team Captain. Some members may be denied the opportunity to serve as a Team Captain due to misconduct in the Association during a previous season or for failing to fulfill the obligations of the Team Captain Role. Restrictions regarding who may serve as a team captain may be made by the Association's Executive Committee.

C. Home‐Team Locations:

1. Each team must have a home‐team location within the Augusta County boarders where meets will occur. Certain locations may be denied the opportunity to serve as a home‐team location due to problems during a previous league season. The Executive Committee may make restriction regarding locations that may serve as home‐team locations. Teams are responsible for ensuring that ownership/management of location agrees to have them throw there. D. During any given league season, once a member has played on one team that member may not play for another team unless: 1. The member's team drops from the Association. 2. The player is removed from the team by the Team Captain and the Executive Committee approves the move to the new team. E. League Alternates (Substitutes): 1. During any given season, certain members may be designated as league alternates. League alternates are not considered members of any team and are not eligible for any awards with the exception of Special Shot Awards (ton-80, Round of 9, Dead Eye) during a season in which they are so designated. 2. A team may only use a single alternate on any given night. 3. A league alternate is considered qualified if they have participated in at least one match during the regular season and their dues have been remitted to the treasurer. However, no league alternate may play: a. For the same team more than three times during the regular season. b. A Qualified League Alternate cannot play more than once for the same team in a playoff/championship match. c. For any team during the league season, if that team has at least four regular members in attendance at a Meet. If an alternate player starts and then the regular player shows up it is at the discretion of the Team Captain to either continue with the alternate player or insert the regular player. Using an alternate player when there are 4 regular players available will result in the forfeiture of any team wins that the alternate participated in. These wins will be awarded to the opposing team. ARTICLE VII: FEES A. League Fees. 1. SVDA members shall be required to pay a League Fee of $25 per person, per league season. All fees must be paid to the SVDA Treasurer. League Fees for the team must be paid prior to the end of the Preseason Luck of the Draw. Failure to have fees in for all player on the team will result in the team not being able to play that season, they will not be on the schedule. 2. Any player joining after the initial team fees are paid the Team Captain must remit dues no later than two days after the first Meet in which they play. a. In all cases, it is the responsibility of the Team Captain to submit dues for the players on his/her team. 3. No team members can be added after 3/4 of the regular season has elapsed. The exact deadline will be communicated with captains via e‐mail or website each season. The Executive Committee can grant exceptions for extreme circumstances on a case by case basis. B. Alternate Fees: 1. An Alternate Fee of $10 per alternate, per season will apply. 2. The Captain of the team the alternate throws with will be responsible for submitting the fee no later than 2 days after the match in which the alternate participates. C. Failure to pay fees: 1. Failure to pay ANY fee by the appropriate deadline shall result in the following: a. Suspension of the Team Captain from the Association until such fee is paid. b. Loss for that team, of any Team Points earned during any singles, doubles, or team match in which that individual participated thus far during the season. Team wins will NOT be re-instated once the fees are paid.

D. Remitting Payment: 1. All fees paid with a check or money order should be made payable to the Shenandoah Valley Darts Association. Anyone who writes a bounced check to the Association is responsible for paying the amount of the check as well as any fees or penalties incurred as a result of the bounced check. Should a check bounce, the Team Captain must make such team payment plus any penalties incurred by the league no later than the next scheduled Meet. Cash or cashier’s check will be the only accepted forms of payment. Part II: Rules for Match Play ARTICLE I: DEFINITIONS

A. SVDA‐ Shenandoah Valley Darts Association

B. Game Dart (GD)‐ In 301/501/701, the dart that hits the 'double' required to reduce the remaining score to zero; In Cricket, the dart that hits the number required to ensure that a player has closed all of the numbers and has an equal or greater number of points than his opponent.

C. Game Win (GW)‐ For all games involving more than one player from each team, the credit assigned to those players who participated on the winning team but did not hit the Game Dart.

D. Cork‐ Bulls eye or Bull

E. Event‐ The total number of Matches of a specified type being competed for between two teams (e.g., Singles 301, Doubles Cricket, etc.). F. Game/Leg‐ That portion of a Match which ends with a Game Dart (i.e., 301, 501, 701, and Cricket)

G. Match‐ The total number of Games being competed for between two players.

H. Masculine‐ Masculine gender nouns or pronouns shall include female.

I. Meet‐ The total number of Events being competed for between two teams on any given night.

J. Scorer‐ Scorekeeper, Marker, or Chalker

K. Singular‐ Singular terms, where applicable, shall include the plural. ARTICLE II: SCHEDULE A. SVDA plays two (2) seasons hereto known as Fall and Spring. The spring season will begin around the beginning of February. The fall season will begin around the end of August. Each season will be 14 weeks long and have a 3 week playoff. B. Executive Committee will decide each season on splitting the league into divisions with an equal number of teams if possible. The Executive Committee will determine the number of divisions. C. When assigning teams to divisions the main factor will be to try to have fair and equitable level of competition. The following rules will be followed if possible: D. Ideally the two (2) top finishers in the lower divisions will move up to the higher division. Regular Season records are used to determine these teams. In the event of a tie, the same tiebreaker rules will apply from section II‐G. E. The bottom two (2) finishers in each division will move down the lower division the next season. . In the event of a tie, the same tiebreaker rules will apply from section II‐G. F. Changes to a team’s roster (addition of players from higher divisions, loss of stronger players, and addition of multiple inexperienced players) may affect the team’s position. G. New teams for the season will be evaluated by the Executive Committee for correct placement. H. The Executive Committee will determine the division layouts and their decision is final. I. Season standings and tournament seeding’s are determined in this order (after any point penalties are assessed) (If 3 or more teams are tied, the tie breaker will start with C): a. Match win/loss record (Head to Head) b. Best record between tied teams i. Win/Loss ii. Point Total c. Team winning percentage in the following matches in this order: i. 701 ii. 501 iii. Doubles Cricket iv. 301 v. Singles Cricket d. Coin Toss J. Playoff Tournament will last no longer than 3 weeks. Modifications may be made to the tournament schedule by the Executive Committee as deemed necessary (i.e. scheduling dates other than Wednesday, Number of teams participating in tournament, etc.) K. Substitutes can be used in the playoffs if they are on the approved Sub list. A substitute can only be used once per team per playoff session.

ARTICLE III: GENERAL RULES A. All players shall play by these Shenandoah Valley Darts Association Rules. 1. Any player who fails to comply with any of these SVDA Rules shall be subject to penalties deemed appropriate by the SVDA Executive Committee. Penalties include, but are not limited to: a. Loss of Personal and/or Team Points b. Disqualification from that game, match, or meet c. Suspension or expulsion from the Association 2. The interpretation on these SVDA Rules, in relation to a specific situation, shall rest with the SVDA Executive Committee. Protests shall be considered per provisions set forth. 3. The SVDA assumes no responsibility for accident or injury on any premises during the course of a Meet. 4. Good sportsmanship shall be the prevailing attitude throughout all Meets. The Team Captains shall handle any conduct problems. Any protest regarding any Captain's treatment of a conduct problem shall be considered per provisions set forth. Any player behaving in a manner deemed detrimental to the SVDA may be subject to disciplinary action. 5. Players are encouraged to compliment teammates and even opponents on good play. However, when a player is throwing, whether an opponent or teammate, he deserves certain courtesies from each of us. Do nothing to break a player's concentration while he is on the line. Limit encouragement and gamesmanship to before he steps to the line and after his turn is over. Have fun and a good time, but remember your manners too! Once a player has approached the hockey line and is preparing to throw: a. Do not stand beside a player and stare at him. Stay behind the line. Don't shuffle or move around. b. Do not drop or rattle your darts. c. Unless asked, do not tell any player the remaining score or the particular shot they would need to make. If a player would like help, the player can ask for assistance. d. Do not engage in overly demonstrative signs of disgust or excitement. e. Do not make any comments regarding a player's ability to hit a particular section of the board, score a sufficient number of points, hit a particular configuration, etc. f. Do not make comments indicative of your desire for a player to hit or miss any particular shot. 6. Any association member who throws a dart at anything other than a dartboard automatically shall forfeit that match as well as any Team, Game, and/or Personal Points earned during the course of the match. The opposing team shall earn 2 Team points for the match. Any personal points earned thus far by any other individuals involved in the match shall remain. A second offense by any player shall result in disqualification as well as suspension of that player from the Association for the remainder of the season. 7. Players are responsible for: conducting themselves appropriately during all Association related events, providing their own equipment, verifying the location and scores of each dart they throw, and correct mathematical calculations (other players are NOT responsible for misinformation). 8. All darts must be thrown by, and from the hand. 9. A round shall consist of three darts, unless a game/match is completed in a lesser amount. 10. Should a player touch any dart, which is in the dartboard, during a round, that round shall be deemed to have been completed.

11. Any dart bouncing off, or falling out of the dartboard shall not be re‐thrown, except during the Diddle. 12. Any player leaving an Association Meet without consent of the team captain shall forfeit all Personal Points and awards associated with the Meet. 13. Under no circumstances should there be gambling on games BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER any SVDA scheduled match or sponsored event. ARTICLE IV: FORMAT A. All Events shall be completed in the order below, unless both team captains agree to a change. Except where noted otherwise, all matches shall continue until a player has won two of the three maximum games (best‐of‐three).

1. Team 701 (Straight‐in, Double‐out) two teams of four players, must be played by 4 different players from each team. Only one game played no best‐of‐three. 2. Doubles 501 (Straight‐in, Double‐out) two matches played, each match consisting of teams of two players each, no player may participate on both of his teams Doubles 501 matches.

3. Doubles Cricket‐ two matches played, each match consisting of teams of two players each, no player may participate on both of his teams Doubles Cricket matches.

4. Singles 301 (Double‐in, Double‐out) four matches played, each match consisting of teams of one player each. No player may participate in more than one Singles 301 match per meet.

5. Singles Cricket‐ four matches played, each match consisting of teams of one player each. No player may participate in more than one Singles Cricket match per meet. ARTICLE V: Starting and Finishing A. All Games will begin by THROWING AT THE CORK (the diddle). A coin toss will determine the player who will have the option of throwing first or second for the diddle to begin the Match. The loser of the first game will have the option of throwing first or second for the diddle to begin the second game. If a third game is required the loser of the coin flip will have the option of throwing first or second for the diddle to begin the third game. On each occasion, the player/team throwing closest the Cork shall throw first in that Game. 1. The second thrower may acknowledge the first thrower's dart as an inner (DOUBLE) or outer (SINGLE) Cork and ask for that dart to be removed prior to his throw. Should the first dart be removed without the request of the second thrower, a re‐throw will occur; with the second thrower having the option of throwing first. The dart must remain in the board in order to count. Additional throws may be made when throwing the Cork until such time as the player's dart remains in the board. Should the second thrower's dart dislodge the dart of the first thrower, a re‐throw will be made with the second thrower now throwing first. Re‐throws shall be called if the Scorer (or players if there is no Scorer) cannot decide which dart is closest to the Cork, or if both darts are anywhere in the inner bull, or both darts are anywhere in the outer bull. If there is a Scorer, the decision of the Scorer is final. Should a re‐throw be necessary, the darts should be removed and the person who threw second must now throw first. B. A game shall be concluded as soon as the winning dart is thrown (game dart, GD). Any darts thrown after the Game Dart shall not count for points. C. It is permissible for one member of a team to throw the Cork first, and have his partner or another teammate shoot first to begin the game. D. No Game may start after 11:30 p.m. Any games that have not begun by 11:30 p.m. are considered double forfeits. (No points or Wins will be awarded) ARTICLE VI: Rules for '01 Games A. Each player/team will begin with the specified number of points for the game (301/501/701). The objective shall be to reduce that score to exactly zero, using as few darts as possible. The player(s) on each team alternate throwing until the game is finished. B. A player's score for each throw is the total of all three darts added together. The score is to be recorded and subtracted from the previous total. C. The inner narrow band shall score 'Triple' the segment number and the outer narrow band shall score 'Double' the segment number. D. If a player throws darts which score more points than they have remaining, or leaves them with one point remaining, the player has "busted" and they shall return to the amount of points they had before throwing the round in which they "busted". E. Each 301 game shall be played with a double required to start reducing the score (double‐in) and a double required to finish (double‐out). Each 501 and 701 game shall be played with no double required to start reducing the score (straight‐in) and a double required to finish (double‐out). F. For the purposed of starting/finishing a game. The inner bull has a value of double 25 (50). ARTICLE VII: Rules for Cricket Games A. Cricket shall be played using the numbers 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, and the Cork. Each dart in one of these numbers is referred to as a MARK. The player(s) on each team alternate throwing until the game is finished. The objective shall be to 'close' the playable numbers on the board while achieving the highest point score. The first player to close all numbers while leading or tied in points wins. B. To close a number, the player must score three of that number (3 marks). This can be accomplished with three singles, a single and a double, or a triple. Once a player has scored three of a number, that number is 'owned' by that player. Once both players have scored three of a number, it is 'closed' and neither player can further score on that number. To close the bulls eye, the outer bull counts as a single, and the inner bull counts as a double. C. Once a player owns a number, he may score points on that number until the opponent closes the number. All numerical scores are added to the previous total. Numbers can be owned in any order desired by the individual player. Calling your shot is not required. D. For the purpose of owning a number, the double and triple rings shall count as 2 and 3 marks, respectively. After a player owns a number, these marks shall count as 2 and 3 times the numerical value of the box, respectively. ARTICLE VIII: Scoring and Points A. General Scoring 1. For a dart to score it must remain in the board 5 seconds after that player has thrown the third or final dart. The tip of the dart point must be touching the bristle portion of the board in order for a dart to be counted. 2. No dart may be touched by the thrower, another player, scorer, or spectator, prior to the decision of the scorer. Should this occur, that round shall be deemed to have been completed. 3. It is the responsibility of the player to verify his score before removing his darts from the board. The score remains as written if one or more darts has been removed from the board. In '01 games (301/501/701), errors in arithmetic must stand as written, unless corrected prior to the beginning of that player's next throw. In case of Doubles/Team matches, such errors must be rectified prior to the next turn of any partner/player on that team. In accordance with the inherent "strategy" involved in the Cricket game, no alterations in a player's score shall be allowed after his opponent has begun his throw. 4. In Doubles/Team matches, no player may throw until each of his teammates has completed his round. The FIRST player throwing out of turn shall receive a score of ZERO points for that round (no SCORE in Cricket) and his team shall FORFEIT said round. 5. The scoreboard/sheet must be clearly visible to the player at the Hockey/Line. B. Scoring 1. For each match, keep a total of all games on the front of the score sheet by circling the number of games played for each match. Place a check mark or other mark in the correct center column for the winning team. The final match score will add up to a total of 13. When calculating the individual statistics on the back of the sheet, you will calculate the total games played for each team member and for the whole team. Total team games should match for each team. 2. Team standings, will be based on the total number of matches won. C. All Star Points 1. All star points will be earned in accordance with the following structure. a. '01 Games Game Dart (GD) 2 PT Game W1n (GW) 1 PT (assigned to those players who participated on the winning team but did not hit the Game Dart)

However, a triple that does count for 1 or 2 scores shall be considered 1 or 2 Marks, respectively. Likewise, a double that counts as 1 score shall be considered 1 Mark.)

All of the following special shots should be reported in the Special Shots area on the front of the score sheet:

High‐in 9 ‐ 12 darts finish in cricket 8 darts finish in cricket

High‐out 7 – 9 darts finish in 301 6 darts finish in 301 8T0 R9 10 – 12 darts finish in 501 9 darts finish in 501 Dead Eye 13 – 15 darts in 701 12 darts finish in 701 e. All star averages will be calculated by dividing the total number of personal points earned by the total number of games played. Each player's (including alternates) average Points per Game (PPG) will be cumulative over successive Meets. ARTICLE IX: Procedures A. All boards to be used during a Meet must be made available for practice at least 30 minutes before 7:30 PM. ONLY team members may use any adjacent boards for practice or members participating in another SVDA Meet in the same location.

B. Each Meet begins at 7:30 p.m. A 15‐minute grace period is allowed but, by 7:45 p.m., the 701 match or two other matches must have started. Events should take place in the order designated. However, the order may be changed provided BOTH team captains agree. In any case, the third and fourth match must start no later than 5 minutes following the termination of the second of the first two matches. Once an Event has begun, if third and/or fourth players have not arrived in time to begin, the matches in which he/she/they were scheduled to participate shall be considered forfeits unless BOTH CAPTAINS AGREE to allow those matches to be played later in the Meet. C. The captain of each team will enter the names of all players for all events prior to the beginning of the Meet. If, at the time the line‐up is entered, a team captain anticipates the need to make a change in the line‐up (e.g., a player may show up late or a player may have to leave early), a substitute can be listed for each player by entering a substitute’s name in brackets next to the listed player. Once both teams have completed their line‐ups, the two team captains will then match their sheets to determine the draw. NO changes shall be made after the sheets have been matched. D. It is permissible for a team to participate in a Meet with fewer than four players but each team must have at least two players in order to avoid a Meet forfeit. In the case of singles matches, the last match (or last two matches) shall be forfeits and 2 Game Wins shall be awarded to the team with players present. In the case of doubles or team matches, the team must forfeit one turn in each rotation for each missing player. One a game has begun; missing players may not join a game in progress but can participate in subsequent games within the match. E. Any request for a postponement of a Meet must be made to the opposing team's captain at least 24 hours before the Meet is scheduled to begin. Any Meet that is postponed must be rescheduled at the time of the postponement and must take place within two weeks of the scheduled Meet. The Association President or Secretary must be informed of the postponement as well as the date on which the Meet is rescheduled. F. After the night's Meet has begun, all matches shall begin no more than 5 minutes following the termination of the previous event. G. Should a player's playing equipment become damaged, or be lost during the course of a throw, that player shall be allowed up to a maximum of 5 minutes in which to repair/replace the playing equipment. H. A maximum time limit of 5 minutes shall be allowed in the instance of a player required to leave the playing area during the course of match play. I. Players involved in an ongoing match may not practice on another board between throws. The first occurrence of this behavior shall result in a warning. The second occurrence shall result in the player receiving a score of Zero points in '01 or no score in cricket for that round. Players not involved in an ongoing match may practice on open dartboards.

J. Any dart bouncing off, or falling out of the dartboard shall not be re‐thrown, except during the Diddle. H. ONLY players and scorers are allowed inside the playing area. All players must stand at least 2 feet behind the players at the hockey line, unless they are competing on an adjoining lane. Once a player has approached the hockey line and is preparing to throw, no one from the opposing team should touch, stand, or speak to the player in a distracting manner until the player's turn is finished. It IS permissible for a teammate to advise a thrower during a game, provided that the teammate is not scoring at the time. However, unless the shooter asks, you should not: 1. Lean out/forward to see where a dart is or is going. 2. Comment on or confirm the location of any dart. 3. Indicate the number of points scored, with one dart or more dart(s). 4. Indicate what to shoot or what combination to shoot. I. Scorers are to remain facing the board and be as still as possible until the game is over. The Scorer should confirm the location(s) of any dart or combination of darts but, ONLY WHEN ASKED BY THE SHOOTER. The scorer should not indicate the number of points scored, with one or more dart(s), or inform the thrower what is remaining UNLESS THE SHOOTER REQUESTS CONFIRMATION. Scorers will be impartial to all players shooting in the game being scored, regardless of team membership. Scorers will not tell a shooter what to shoot or what combination to shoot or give advice on strategy to any player. J. All protests must be made to the Executive Committee in writing to the Rules Director and All complaints can be sent in writing via text, email or written out to the rules director within 6 days of the incident.. If the Executive Committee’s decision is not satisfactory, the protest may be brought before the Board of Directors at their next Meeting. All protests should be brought to the attention of the team captain(s) as soon as possible.

K. Any situation not covered herein shall be referred to the Executive Committee, via the Association President, for a ruling. ARTICLE X: Equipment A. Darts used in Association play shall not exceed an overall maximum length of 30.5 cm (12"), nor weigh more than 50 gm per darts. Each dart shall consist of a recognizable point, barrel, and flight.

B. The dartboard shall be a standard 18" bristle board and shall be of the standard 1 ‐ 20 clock pattern. C. The scoring wedge indicated by 20 shall be the darker of the two wedge colors and must be the top center wedge. D. No alterations/accessories may be added to the board setups. E. The throwing distance shall be 7' 9¼ ". The board height shall be 5' 8" (floor to center bull); 9' 7½" measured diagonally from the center bull to Hockey Line. F. G. Lights must be affixed in such a way as to brightly illuminate the board, reduce to a minimum the shadows cast by the darts, and not physically impede the flight of a dart.

H. A scoreboard must be mounted within 4' laterally from the dartboard and should not be more than a 45‐degree angle from the dartboard.

I. Whenever possible, a raised hockey, at least 1 1/2" high and 2' long, shall be placed in position at the minimum throwing distance, and shall measure from the back of the raised hockey 7' 9 1/4" along the floor to a plumb line at the face of the dartboard. In the event the hockey is a tape or similar 'flush' marking, the minimum throwing distance shall be measured from the edge (front) of the tape closest to the dartboard, as if the front edge of the tape were placed along an imaginary raised hockey.

J. All Venues are responsible for providing the following: 1. Dart boards in good playing shape 2. Adequate lighting for all boards 3. Reasonable quantities of markers/chalk 4. Scoreboards in decent condition
