Landrover Grassroots Qualifier Rossli Cup & The Bloom Cup Tuesday 15th August 2017

Enclosed are the entry forms for the above event, as well as entry forms for The Landrover Grassroots Qualifier team class (Class 2). Entry forms A should be returned by no later than Monday 24th July 2017 and entry forms B by Monday 7th August 2017. The course may be walked after 2.00pm on Monday 14th August 2017. Riding times will be sent electronically by email: from Judy Haythornthwaite to all DC’s & Team Trainers on Sunday 13th August, 2017.

This year we are inviting teams from all Branches in Area 8 to compete in Classes 2. The Bloom Cup being awarded to the Highest Placed Northern Branch. THE BLOOM CUP Hosted by Waveney Harriers Branch of the Pony Club Tuesday 15th August 2017 Geldeston Hall, Geldeston, Nr. Beccles, Suffolk, NR34 0LP. By kind permission of Mr. & Mrs. Fenwick Kindly Sponsored by This competition will be run in accordance with the Northern Novice One Day Event Rules 2017. Copy enclosed.

Entries – Initial entries should be made on Part A closing date 24th July 2017 Detailed entries should be made on Part B closing date 7th August 2017

Entry fee will be £42.00 per competitor, which includes a contribution towards First Aid.

Lunch will be provided for the D.C. and team trainer in the food pavilion.

Conditions (applicable to both classes) 1. For Cross Country body protectors must meet BETA 2009 level 3 standard (purple lable), medical armbands and officially tagged jockey skull caps with no fixed peak must be worn. Stopwatches are not allowed to be worn. Anyone wearing a woof wear or similar body cage should lodge a key with the secretary. 2. Riders Must wear the same number for all three disciplines.

3. Bloom Cup is open to all branches in Area 8 with the Bloom Cup being awarded to the highest placed Northern Branch.

4. Individual Placings 1st to 8th in each arena, as well as Team Placings

5. If you are eliminated you will incur 300 points but not be eliminated.

6. No ponies or horses to be left unsupervised whilst tied to a vehicle/trailer.

7. Neither the organisers, nor any person acting on their behalf will accept liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, riders, and spectators or any other person or property whatsoever.

8. HEALTH AND SAFETY The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Chief Steward, organisers and stewards.A maximum speed limit of 10mph must be observed while driving on the showground (including entering and exiting). THE BLOOM CUP AREA 8 – NORTHERN NOVICE ONE DAY EVENT RULES This is a team competition inaugurated by Mrs Jenny Bloom & Mr. Maurice Wright for Branches in Area 8 who do not take part in the Gosling Cup. It is aimed at the true novice riders who may not achieve the level of Open Area Horse Trials and to encourage members to participate as a team.

Eligible Branches for the Bloom Cup Easton Harriers Littleport & Dist Mid Suffolk North Norfolk Soham & District South Norfolk Thetford Chase Walpole & District Waveney Harr. West Norfolk

All Other Branches from Area 8 are invited to compete in Class 2 with the Bloom Cup being awarded to the heighest placed Northern Branch. There are Individual placings as well as team placings 1 -8 th .

Composition of Teams Teams of 3 or 4 with the highest placed 3 to count. Open to members riding horses or ponies. 1. Combination of horse/pony and rider must not have competed in Pony Club Area Open or Intermediate Eventing nor to have competed at BE100. 2. Combinations not to have qualified for the Novice Eventing Championships 2016/17. 3. Combinations who have been placed 1-10 in any BE 90 will carry a penalty of 10 points 4. Horse/ponies that have competed at Pony Club Open Area Eventing or have BE points in the current or previous year carry a penalty of 10 points. Thereafter no penalties will apply.

Each branch is entitled to enter 2 teams and a third at the organiser’s discretion. If a Branch is unable to field a team, they may be able to enter 1 or 2 individuals.

Competition comprises: Dressage Test, Show Jumping and Cross Country.

Dressage Current Pony Club Novice Eventing Dressage Test 2013 Show Jumping PC90 – max. height 0.95cm to include min. 1 double and max. 3 spread fences. Speed 325m per minute Cross Country PC90 – max. height 0.90cm to include not more than 25 jumping efforts and not less than 18 with at least 3 ‘L’ alternatives at the more difficult fences. Speed 435m per minute. Penalties as current Eventing rules.

Awards Bloom CupTrophy to the best Northern team Team rosettes to 8th place Best dressage in each section Rosettes 1st – 8th in each section Rosettes to all double clear rounds Competitors must be present to receive their award & teams to be in award order. Rules Current Eventing rules for Novice competitions PC90 apply with appropriate modifications. Objections to be lodged by the DC or team representative named on the entry form to the Chief Steward, in writing with a fee of £50 which is non-refundable unless the objection is upheld. Any changes after the FINAL ENTRIES have been submitted must be sent by email to: [email protected] & [email protected] - All emails will be acknowledged.

This event is run under the Pony Club Eventing rules 2017 and particular attention is drawn To the fact that riders must leave the course after 3 refusals at the same fence and after a total of 4 refusals on the course and will not be permitted to continue. Beccles, NR34 0LP By kind permission of Mr. & Mrs. Fenwick Kindly Sponsored by.. CLASS 1 Open to any branch of the Pony Club in Area 8. Each branch may enter two teams and a third if numbers permit. Teams to be made up of 3 or 4, with the highest placed 3 to count. If a branch is unable to field a team they will be able to enter 1 or 2 individuals. The competition will be run and judged under current PC80 Eventing Rules and is a Regional Qualifier for the Landrover Grassroots Championship to be held at Keysoe in September. This class is open to all Pony Club members and combinations who have not represented their branch at Area PC 90 Eventing or above.

Dressage Test Pony Club Grassroots Dressage Test 2016 Show Jumping PC80 - fences will not exceed 0.85cm. (on 2 fences at this height) Cross Country PC80 - fences 0.80cm.

The optimum time 435m. per minute with penalties for going too fast as per eventing level 2 rules.

Entry fee £42* per competitor, which includes a contribution towards First Aid. *Fee to be reviewed annually.
