Changes in Dismissal

CHANDLER PM DISMISSAL

Every day a large number of our young students come to school with a pick up note for early dismissal, or parent pick up at the end of the day. In addition, many phone requests arrive daily to explain a last minute change of plans. Our office staff, work very hard to make sure all notes are logged-in, that pick up notes are sent back to students, and that phone requests are communicated to the children. With over 600 young students at Chandler, this is a formidable task.

We respectfully request the following:  Please have your child ride the bus as often as possible  Please use the green dismissal notes when you do have to pick up and send to school on the day you will be picking your child up  Please phone in dismissal changes only when absolutely necessary as our young students often become confused and anxious about those changes  Please be patient when your child travels to the office to be picked up. Often, they have to pack up before coming to meet you  Please understand that despite many reminders from teachers and staff, often children forget their pick up plans, and may get on the bus or confuse pick-up days

Afternoon pick up at the end of the day is in the gymnasium every day. The rear door will open at 3:05. You will be asked for your identification as you check in with the staff member at the rear door. Please enter through the first gym door and wait until the line of children is in and stopped. The duty teacher will dismiss the children to you. Please exit through the other door.

Afternoon pick up prior to the end of the day is in the office. Please arrive prior to 3:05 PM for office pick up. Parents arriving after 3:05 PM will be directed to the gymnasium to be picked up.

There are large numbers of children being picked up daily, and we respectfully request your cooperation. Working together we can guarantee a safe and stress free dismissal for all of our young children. Thank you for your cooperation.
