STAFF & STUDENTS: EVERY SINGLE DAY COUNTS! It’s your choice….. MAKE IT A GOOD DAY!! ** American Education Week—November 13-17, 2017—is the opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education. National education week began in 1921.after noticing that 25 percent of the country's World War I draftees were illiterate and 9 percent were physically unfit, representatives met in 1919 to seek ways to generate public support for education. The NEA called for: "An educational week ... observed in all communities annually for the purpose of informing the public of the accomplishments and needs of the public schools and to secure the cooperation and support of the public in meeting those needs. "So thank a teacher, thank all Twin River staff members, administration, aides, secretaries, janitors, cooks, and bus drivers; they all have a hand in you receiving an education!! *7-12 Students: Just a reminder that students may only have clear water bottles with water in the building and classrooms throughout the day. There should be no outside food or other drink in the buildings except what is served at lunch and breakfast in the cafeteria. Those items should never be taken out of the cafeteria. ** Seniors: The Southeast Community College rep will be here Wednesday, November 15th at 1:45pm. If you are attending, please sign up in Mr Koziol's outer office up until the day prior to the reps visit. ** Just a reminder that there are to be no hats, caps, bandanas or any other head gear including hoodies to be worn inside the building during the school day. If you are asked to remove them… please do so. Thank- you. ** For all those interested in going out for the Twin River Speech Family (also known as the Speech Team) there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, November 13th, during homeroom in Mr. Sidwell's classroom. ** FCCLA Members participating in STAR, please sign up on the bulletin board to meet with Mrs. Andreasen during a homeroom period to check-in on progress.
