Format: A modified Ryder Cup format will be used for this three day tournament. Teams will play Four-Ball Stroke Play (better net ball of the two) on the River Course, Pinehurst Scotch (alternate shot) on the Plantation Course and Captain’s Choice on the Woods Course.
Two-man teams will compete in six team flights from the same tees all three days. Players may select the tees from which they wish to play; Blue, White or Red. Blue and White tee players will play 18 holes each day. Red tee players will play 9 holes on Friday, 9 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.
In the Four-Ball Stroke Play, players will be allowed 90% of their course handicap. After this reduction, if team members have course handicaps differing by more than 8 strokes, each team member’s handicap will be subjected to an additional 10% reduction, according to USGA guidelines.
In the Pinehurst Scotch Play, team handicaps will be calculated with 60% of the lower course handicap and 40% of the higher handicap.
In the Captain’s Choice Play, team handicaps will be calculated with 35% of the lower course handicap and 15% of the higher handicap.
Scoring will be by a Stableford Point System. Each team’s total score for the three days will decide the standings in each flight.
HANDICAPS: Guests should have an established USGA handicap index. Guests will use their May 1, 2008 USGA handicap index. Members will use their June 1, 2008 USGA handicap index. ENTRY FEE: An entry fee of $325.00 per team (same as last year) covers a practice round, three competitive rounds of golf, soft drinks during play and beer after play each day. A continental breakfast will also be available on Saturday and Sunday mornings, a cocktail party and dinner/dance will be held on Saturday evening. An awards party with beer, wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be held early Sunday evening. In addition, each team member will receive a welcome gift.
CART FEES: Will be charged separately to the member’s Kingsmill account.
PRACTICE ROUND: Each team is entitled to one practice round between Friday, May 30 and Thursday, June 5. Tee times are required and may be reserved in advance by the member. Contact Jeremy Hyjek or Kristen Volentine to arrange tee times.

Awards: The overall winning teams from the Blue, White and Red tee flights will receive prizes. In addition, each flight winner, runner up and best on Sunday will receive prizes.
