Campground 2013 Spring Newsletter
We hope everyone had a happy and healthy winter and we look forward to seeing you at the camp this spring/summer.
Updates: - We’ve recently launched a new website, check it out at: www.trilliumwoods.ca. We are also on twitter, flickr and facebook. If you are users of these sites, please “like” or “friend” us. Links are found on the website. We will be blogging updates and posting pictures all summer on the website. Let us know if there is anything you wish to share or post in relation to fellow campers or activities of TWC. - Also we’ve adjusted some of our overnight fees up (feel free to visit the website to have a look at the 2013 rate sheet). o Day visitors have increased to $5/day. Visitors must be out of the park by 10pm or overnight fees will apply. o The day visitors pass remains at $50/season. - We are looking at ideas that will help reduce the clutter of boats/canoes/kayaks in the beach area in the summer time. We need to eliminate canoes being tied to trees on the pathways etc… This causes tripping hazards when we do TWC boat rentals and is not so good for the trees. For the 2013 season we are assigning boat storage on the racks. As in previous seasons, you are still required to have your site number on your watercraft. We encourage those who do not use their boat often to keep them at their site. We remind everyone that we have a canoe dolly in the brown shed (by the office) for people to use. This is a free service.
Park Services: The 2013 campground season is open for full services from Friday, May 17 to Monday, October 13. Anyone using the park outside of these dates is responsible for their own garbage. The washrooms are only open during the above dates. Hydro and sewer are on all year.
Reminders: *Only Local firewood may be brought into the park – check with the office before bringing any wood into the park. *Children are not to enter the water off the dock – a safety issue – the dock becomes wet and very slippery! *Please remove tablecloths on park picnic tables when you are not in residence, as the wood does not have a chance to breathe and rots more quickly. *Please discuss with us any changes/addition you are wishing to make on your site prior to commencing your plan of action. As in previous years, NO CONSTRUCTION between and including the July and Labor Day weekends, either inside or outside your trailer. It disrupts the peace and quiet that you have come to appreciate in this campground, so please remember that there are other campers to consider. *BE GREEN-Please remember to recycle and compost in the appropriate marked container. These forms of disposal are free. Not only is recycling and composting good for our planet, but beneficial to our campground by reducing fees associated with disposal of garbage, which is based on weight. Household garbage is to be contained in clear plastic bags and placed in the red garbage tank. No large items. If you need to dispose of items such as BBQ's, lawn chairs, etc., please contact the office and we will give the disposal information you require.
*BE GREEN-In an effort to reduce paper consumption, we are offering this newsletter and other updates by electronic mail. Please let us know if you would prefer this method, and supply your e-mail address to the office, or send an e-mail to the address below.
Spring BBQ: We welcome all campers to join us at the recreation hall on Sunday, May 19, 6 pm for hamburgers and ice-cream ($1/burger or hotdog, $1/ice cream). We will have games after, approx. @ 8pm.
New events or Activities? If you would like to have a new event or activity, please feel free to contact us with your ideas and suggestions. Keep in mind we have a limited amount of time already dedicated to daily campground activities, however we welcome you to organize and oversee an event. We would be more than happy to help and support you in any way we can. We welcome you to contact us with new ideas and suggestions.
