The AISC rejected the case for endorsement put forward by the previous Industry Skills Council for its removal, due to its use in Victoria (and elsewhere) for disadvantaged populations. As a result, we will be updating this qualification to the 2012 Training Package Standards within the next year, and it will remain on the National Register. 4. A basic hygiene unit – there is nothing in the course about hygiene – which is a bit unfortunate because the reason we clean is to maintain a safe level of hygiene for both cleaning staff and people who use the buildings being cleaned.
