P2/3 Issues What makes a great head teacher? - be nice to everyone - be fashionable - be responsible for all the children - be helpful - make sure there is enough resources in the school - be polite - make sure the school has enough money - show good manners - have a loud and clear voice - be a wee bit strict - to help the teachers to do planning - give the good boys and girls more trips - be good to the teachers - to give money to charity - more ways to raise money in the school - to be reasonable - include everybody - be a happy and funny person - have good rules in the school

P3/4 Issues  What makes a great head teacher? o Help you o Take care of you o Stop bullying o Kind o Happy o Give us a choice of what we would like to learn o Give us a chance to correct our work or behaviour o Hard working o Helps the teachers if they are stuck on something o Visits classes to see how they are getting on o Spends time with the children o Responsible

P4/5 Issues What makes a great head teacher? - It is important to be kind and nice - When children don't behave they have to be strict - Important to react to situations - need to have a sense of humour - Have to deal with situations, looks out for people and is caring - needs to be helpful when there's a problem - make sure there's supplies in the school - makes sure we get high reading levels, math levels and writing levels - have to have something that makes them unique - have to respect the children - help teachers with the planning - make sure the children don't get into arguments and helps to solve them - Needs to be able to say yes and no to pupils, teachers and parents at the right time - It’s important to be positive and not negative - Not too strict - Not give detention to too many people - time out instead, talk about it, discipline points, warning card, extra work - offers support to all children - needs to be honest - be more active and fun - be serious about bullying - Friendly to all - should provide more activities with the pupils  P5 Issues Best Head teacher  Nice to everyone  Not too strict  Fair and chooses different people for rewards and activities  Allows us to have fun and learn at same time  Longer playtime  Have fun days/movie days  Kind, nice, caring ( like Miss Honey from Mathilda)  Good manners  Like Mrs Dyer  Cartoons at wet breaks  Come into playground at break times  Serious about bullying  Be honest  Special rewards for most class points

Make hut toys shared fairer ( use lolly pops /days for hut toys) P6 Issues Best head teacher qualities:  Not to be moany and crabbit  Speak in a talking voice not shouty voice  Not too strict  To be nice and well mannered  To listen to what we have to say  To accept everybody for who they are  To not accuse you of things  Give pupils treats- go to more pantomimes  Be fun and enjoy having a good laugh with the pupils  To be reasonable and fair to all the pupils  Let us go out in the rain if you have a jacket  To give the teachers a reasonable amount of money for doing their job! Any other issues:  People are still hitting outside/ swearing and nothing is done about it P7 Issues A good head teacher is someone who:  Joins in with our learning  Wants to know more about you  Helps us with our outdoor learning  Someone who makes you feel comfortable talking to them  Lets us go out at playtime and lunchtime  Nice  Provides stuff to play with for the younger children  Lets us have snowball fights  Comes out at playtime and lunchtime with us  Does what’s best for the school  Someone who doesn’t make you feel terrible  Responsible  Tells the truth  Listens to both side of the story  Lets us have chewing gum in the playground  Someone who promotes attendance at school  Good sense of humour Other issues: Pitch is still water logged Eco flag is ripped When is the stunt park getting built? Nothing to do at lunch Some of P7 responsibility has been handed to P6 – why? Responses to all issues – for Assembly Report Mrs Dyer will have a good look at all the things you think make a great head teacher and she will make up a survey from this and give it to pupils to see how well pupils think Mrs Dyer is doing as the head teacher. The hut, hitting and swearing – Mrs Dyer will deal with this at assembly. Eco flag will be replaced. BMX track should be getting done in time for summer I hope.
