Scholarships 2012 April/May/June Deadlines

 Midland College: The Charles, Lela & Mary Slough Foundation Scholarship: Awards up to $5000 per year for 5 years or Bachelor’s Degree. Also smaller amounts awarded on one-time basis. Visit www.midland.edu/slough for eligibility criteria and application. Deadline 4/1/2012.

 Gainesville Riding Club: Two $500 Rodeo Gainesville Agriculture Scholarships offered to graduating seniors. See counselor for application. Deadline 4/6/2012.

 Gainesville Area Visual Arts Association: $500 Scholarship to a graduating senior majoring or minoring in visual arts. Must notify counselor of intent to apply by April 9th so that I can call by 4/10/2012 and reserve a place for you on the April 26th agenda of the meeting.

 NCTC General Scholarship: Fill out online or get a paper copy from the counselor! Deadline to their office 4/15/2012.

 NCTC Faculty Congress and William Culp Scholarship application – applicants must be in the top 20% of their class to apply for this scholarship. Fill out online or get a paper copy from the counselor! Deadline to their office 4/15/2012.

 Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Lee Wolf Assembly #2720 Patriotism Scholarship Award Essay Contest. The contest is for Cooke & Montague County high school seniors who are Catholic and will attend college in fall 2012. First place is $500, 2nd place $300, 3rd place $200. Essays accepted beginning March 1st. See counselor for application. Deadline 4/15/2012.

 Goss-Michael Foundation Texas Art Scholarship: For high school graduating seniors in Texas who exhibit exceptional artistic abilities and will pursue a major in fine arts at the college level. See counselor for application. Deadline 4/30/2012.  The Outstanding Rural Scholar Recognition Program: A competitive “forgiveness loan program.” This program matches state funds with rural community funds to sponsor individuals pursuing health care professions that are needed in the sponsoring community. Upon licensure, the health care professional returns to the sponsoring rural community to practice health care. For more information and to receive a program application call Ada Grant at 512-936-6715. Deadline is the 3rd Friday of May for the fall semester.

 Muenster Memorial Hospital David M. Bright Scholarship: For a senior pursuing a career in the medicine or a medically related field or service and resides in the Muenster Memorial Hospital District. See counselor for application. Deadline is 5/7/2012.

 Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 4th year. They will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year.  BigSun Scholarship: The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Amount of award is $500.00. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.
