State Textbook Adoption Cycle

INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES ADOPTION CYCLE

Each year, instructional resources in the state-funded courses for one or more subjects are considered for recommendation by the Georgia Department of Education. Georgia state law requires that each Georgia school system “shall implement textbook recommendation cycles from textbook listings prescribed by the state board…within 18 months of the time said textbook listings are provided by the state board.” (O.C.G.A 20-2-168)
